The Wraith of the Tomb (Part 2)

(Riftan) I saw my mate, running away after she gave her handprint on my cheek. I was flabbergasted, never in my own mind, she would do something like this. She is the first woman who even laid her hand on me. I called her, even shouting, but she transformed into her she-wolf, and disappear into the night. “Damn it, Darkies! We need to chase her! We don’t know what will happen to her!” I saw the Weredragon, shouting at me, my fist flying to his face, unexpectedly, he dodge it. “What the hell?! We don’t have time to fight at each other, our mate is missing!” “She is not your mate, yet! You don’t perform the mate bond ritual with her! So, shut your mouth, and don’t call me darkies, that was insulting!” The Weredragon massaging his forehead. “For hell! As I said, we don’t have time for this!” “Don’t worry, she is a tough warrior on her former camp, also, I could feel her, she is fine.” “Yes, for now! We don’t know what happens to her, she is tough, but she also the woman that we need to protect?” I look at him with a curious expression. “What is with you? She is not a child or a fragile thing that we need to constantly protect.” “Yeah? Well, maybe it is in my nature, I don’t know… I.” “Riftan! What happened?!” Both of us turn around to see Josiah and one of the oracle apprentices, running in our direction. His face is furious, he even grabbed my collar and shouted at me. “I saw your mate in her wolf form, descending the mountain, the two of you should chase her, like, right now!” “Why? Is she in danger?” Aksed the Weredragon to Josiah. Josiah glanced at him, and finally released my tunic. “I had a conversation with Shakira, the oracle, the first tomb of the undead is actually below us, she just confirmed it to me.” “Hell! What is inside the tomb?” I asked Josiah. “You shouldn’t concern yourself about what is inside of the tomb, you should be concerned about what kind of creature guarding the tomb.” The apprentice of the oracle has spoken. I share a glance with the Weredragon, and both of us run as fast as we could, I summon my wings, while the Weredragon transforms in front of my eyes. I will have to admit, he is beautiful and grand, a huge black dragon, with blue eyes staring at me in the night sky. We fly together and descend into the path below. I have the advantages over the Weredragon, I have already completed my ritual of the mate bond with Sabine. The mate bond gave us a connection, I could feel her whenever she is, and also when she is in immediate danger. Thankfully the latter isn’t happening. Only the sense of she is nearby, closer than what we thought at first. Staring at the huge dragon, I then shouted. “Hey, Weredragon! I know where she is, follow me!” The huge dragon just snorted, I take that as his approval, and take a quick turn to the left. He followed me, I could feel his shadow from behind. Finally, I saw her trail and immediately landed on the path. Rylan follows suit, he transforms back to his elven self, I throw him pants. While he was wearing the pants, Rylan asked me a question. “So, you’re a hybrid? I assume a dark Nephilim with a sorcerer.” “You noticed?” “Kind of obvious, when you conjure your bag with supposedly unlimited space inside, and in fact, I am a hybrid as well.” “Let us talk about this when we are finally found, Sabine.” He nodded and put his pants on, we walked for a little bit, and finally notice a cave, a dark small cave. Hard to notice it, and only visible if you’re crouching and meticulously looking for it. “That is a small cave, no wonder anyone couldn’t find the tomb.” “Yeah, and she’s in there.” “Sabine? How was it possible?” I scratch my chin, confused and of course questioning the very same question. “Actually, I don’t know, maybe she found it by a coincidence, or…” “Or something drags it in, forcefully, look, there’s a scratch mark around the edges of the cave.” Rylan pointed at the scratch mark created by a beast, possibly a werewolf. “Definitely, Sabine, something drags her inside.” Rylan scratches his head. “Let us hope the inside is not as narrow as the entrance.” We go into the cave, carefully not making any sound. Thankfully, just like Rylan said, the inside of the cave is wider than the entrance. We comfortably walk side by side, slowly, and tried to minimize the sound. The cave is dark but visible, with the help of the enormous amount of glowing mushrooms, shining our way. “I think this is the small cave of a lesser high Vampyr.” Muttered Rylan. “How do you know that?” “Let’s just say, I have more information, regarding the undead.” “You do know, if Sabine decides to accept you fully as her mate, you need to reveal everything to her.” “Don’t worry, I intend to tell her everything.” “Good, though I don’t like you very much, at least tried to be bearable.” He scoffed at my remarks, I was so glad when I saw the end of the long tunnel, means I don’t have to make a small talk with the Weredragon. Peeking at the room, we saw a coffin, surrounded by the glowing mushroom. “I knew it, I think this is not the coffin of Sabine’s father.” “As far as I knew, Sabine's father is a high Vampyr, it could be him, inside of that coffin.” I tried to reason with Rylan. He shook his head. “Impossible, because inside of that coffin, is a woman. The insignia mean she is a high Vampyr but from the lower caste.” I look at the intricate symbol in the coffin, the insignia of every Vampyr clan. Doesn’t know how to decipher the insignia, I shrug it off and begin to sense Sabine’s presence, once more. “Did you feel her?” Asked Rylan. “Yes, she’s nearby,” But, before I finished, both of us hear a wailing, it comes from the direction of Sabine’s path, “Hell!! Come on Weredragon, she is in danger!” We sped up and run towards the sound, finally, after the winding path, we end up in a small room, with a rancid smell. There’s Sabine in her elven form, trying to dodge her attacker. “Sabine!” We shouted her name at the same time. Her attacker looking at us, and it was the face of a demon, with a long tongue and a menacing red eyes, staring back at both of us. “For hell! It is a Wraith!” I shouted at the attacker, I know the face, I saw it in my textbook. The wraith roars, making the small cave tremble, it is now focusing on us, with its long fingers or claws, it charges toward Rylan and me. But then a shadow charges at the wraith, Sabine in her wolf form, clawing and gnawing at the head of the attacker. Rylan and I are in awe, looking at our mate, defending us. After she has done wrecking the ghouls, she spewed her head and howled. “Sabine, you’re magnificent!” Said I to my beautiful mate. She looks at us both in her wolf form and then scoffed. Thanks the heaven, she is alright. She transform back to her elven form, I gave her a long tunic to wear. “I almost died! What took you so long?!” Sabine shouted at both of us, with her beautiful bi-color eyes. “I’m sorry, at least we aren’t that late.” Said Riftan with a smirk, “Though, you could beat the wraith yourself, in the end.” “So the monster’s name is Wraith, befitting with its looks.” After she stares at the carcass of the guardian of this tomb, she wriggles her hand, and instructed us to follow her, “Come on, I need to see the inside of the coffin.” “Wait, Sabine, the inside of the coffin is a female Vampyr.” Rylan tried to stop her. She stop for a moment, glanced at Rylan, and said. “I wanted to see it with my own eyes.” “Whatever you wish then.” We Have reached the coffin, and with our strength, opened the lid of the coffin. When we saw what was inside, Sabine squeaked and let go of the lid. “For hell, what happened here?!” Something unimaginable happened inside the coffin.
