Matter of our Hearts (part 2)

“Wait! Sabine, I’m sorry! Oh for hell, you’re crying.” He took me into his arms and let out my tears to run out. “What do you think is going to happen? That I will choose Rylan over you? Or the other way around? Let me tell you something, I couldn’t!” I said to Riftan while sobbing, “I care about you so much, and I don’t want anything to happen to Rylan. Think about it, Riftan, you’re lucky because I have met you, first. What if it’s the other way around?” He got taken aback by my words. It was the truth, my destiny to have three mates, there’s nothing I can do, I need to take care of them, or they will doom me for eternity. The truth is, having a normal mating bond with another elven is less complicated than the true mates. In the normal mate situation, when you disagree, you could have a separation between each other. Not for a true mate, true mates are bound for life, they couldn’t have any separation, and if someone dares to cut their bond, they will be shunned and become mateless. Riftan then embraces my body and caresses my hair. “You’re right, I am so sorry about our argument and also the way I humiliate you in front of Rylan. Would you forgive me?” “Of course, I would, but, the words that you were spewing, I…” “Please, forgive me, my wolf. Being a Dark Nephilim, we tend to be possessive towards our mate,” Whispered Riftan to my ear, “I’m willing to accept Rylan, and the other one, but, promise me, you have to be fair.” “Oh, Riftan, I…” “No, please… Promise me.” I look into Riftan’s eyes, the eyes of a man who needs love and devotion. I hate myself and my fate, why do I have to get three mates? Now, I need to balance myself with more than one mate. “I’m not a saint, so, all I could promise you is that I will try for as long as I lived.” His face went dark, But, he then tried to smile, even though it wasn’t a bit genuine. “Are you okay?” I asked Riftan. “Uhm… of course.” He said while he let go of the embrace. “Riftan, are you sure?” He let out a sigh, and smile once again. “Yes, of course, why shouldn’t I? Now, come on, Rylan would be waiting.” I look at Riftan from behind, even though he tried to convince me that there’s nothing wrong, but, I know, he doesn’t like the answer to his every question about the matters of my heart. All I could do is prayed that he accept Rylan and the other one as his equal, and for me to be able to divide my love and devotion into three pieces of the equal measures. Rylan goes back to the pavilion, with Riftan, walking behind him. I told him to sit and listen to my proposal. “Alright, so what is the verdict?” Asked Rylan, half jester, half concerned. “We decide, that both of you and the other will be welcome into our mate bond.” Rylan, surprisingly couldn’t believe what he was just heard. “Wait, you’re going to accept me into your harem?” “Oh, for hell! Don’t say it as a harem, I am not royalty, nor a warlord. Just… call it as part of my mate bond.” “Of course, whatever you said, my lady.” Whispered Rylan, while he smile naughtily and bite his lips. I almost jump at him, right at that moment, the way he looks at me and also his husky voice, not to mention those piercing eyes. I cleared my throat, nervously, and continued to explain to Rylan about the agreement. “Uhm… right, and also… I wanted us to postpone our mate bond.” A sigh of relief came into Riftan’s face, while a slight of disappointment came from Rylan. “I need to know about you more, we just met, all I know about you is the fact that you’re an attractive Weredragon, and with a talent for art.” “You think of me attractive?” Asked Rylan while he smile from ear to ear. Riftan scoffed and rolled his eyes. “This is ridiculous, of course, Sabine thought all of us as an attractive elven men.” Half of the statement was the truth, but for me, they have their own charmed. Rylan, with his piercing blue eyes and wicked smile, and Riftan, with his high cheekbone and luscious lips. All I could manage was just a smile and a nervous shrug. “I understand completely about your term, and you’re right, we need to know each other before they mate bond ritual is happening for both of us.” I glance at Riftan, at least for now, he is smiling more genuinely than before. We said goodnight to each other, Rylan is sleeping in the next-door room, while Riftan and I, occupied the bigger room. We fell asleep immediately, the exhaustion finally came into us. By the morning of the yellow sun, I’ve awake before Riftan, who’s still sleeping soundly by my side. When I take a sight of the shining yellow sun, I decide to take a morning walk in the surrounding compound. The path walk from the pavilion to the compound is filled with colorful trees and flowers, little birds, and transparent butterflies, flying around the flowers. I smell the flower, the scent of sweetness engulfed my nostril. “Jasmine, a fragrance flower from the human realm.” I turn around to see Shakira, the oracle, she is seating on a bench, with a cup of a drink in her left hand. “It’s rare for a night clan elven to awake in such time.” “Just in the mood to take a morning walk,” I said to Shakira. “Then come, you should taste this warm drink, together with me.” Appreciate her nice gesture, I nodded and then take a seat beside Shakira. Took a sip of the warm drink, and immediately liked the taste of it. “Heavens! It tastes so good, what is this?” “It is what you call tea, a drink from the human realm.” “Really?? Oh, I love it!” I said to Shakira, a bit enthusiastic. Surprisingly, she makes a faint sound of laughing by muffling her mouth with her hand, a very cute gesture from a woman, whom everyone said as one of the powerful minders in the Humatora kingdom. “My apology, but, why are you laughing?” I asked her, while a smile came down my face. “You do remind me of your father.” I gasped and my eyes widen, and the cup in my hand almost slip away. “You knew my father?!”
