I'm still wondering why I said yes. Without hesitation, I bowed before him and promised him my hand in marriage. Maybe I wanted to get it over and done with, I just wanted to see if Kate was alright.
His answer was perfect and I didn't want to waste a second on deciding any further.
The audience started to clap and to cheer, my mother ran up to me and pulled me in for a hug. She then pulled away and started to speak, "This is a day to remember, thank you all for coming!" she says and orders her maids to help guide the guests out of the ballroom. The other 2 men walked off without saying a word and it was just me and the man.
"I was surprised that you have chosen me, my looks aren't the best" he says and smiles. I looked him up and down and sighed, "Your looks were never important to me, I was looking for someone to help me take care of the people" I say with a weak smile.
The man was quite stunning and I could tell that he was a flirt. But I still didn't feel anything for him, I was still in love with Kate.
"Well, you are beautiful, and I am thankful that you have chosen me" The man says and bows before me. He was quite a gentleman and that made things better. "You're welcome, do you know where everything is in the castle, I could show you around?" I said with a smile.
"I already know where everything is, we're neighbors!" the man says with a laugh.
As soon as he said that, my eyes went wide and I fell to my knees. He was the king of Greyland.
"I'm sorry, your highness, I didn't recognize you until now" I say, not looking up at him.
How could I have not remembered how he looked? My father once invited him over to meet me and we became friends, but after a few years, we never saw each other again.
"It's not your fault, Lenora, it's been a long time. It's great to see you again" the man says with a gentle tone.
"It's nice to see you again too, Edward" I say. Edward then helped me up from the ground and pulled me in for a hug. "I'm glad that you're going to be my wife, our countries will unite and I will have you all to myself" he says. I was happy, but I was also concerned, this man was acting like I was a prize that he had won.
I pulled away from him and fixed my dress, I faked a smile and called my maids. "Please make yourself at home, I have to go drink, I will be with you shortly" I say and bowed and left.
I left my maids with Edward and that gave me time to go look for Kate, I started to run upstairs until I walked into Cassius. I quickly bowed before him and smiled. "I'm sorry, my lord, I'm in a hurry" I say, as I stepped out of his way.
Cassius was smiling, and that meant that he got something.
"Congratulations with your new husband, I apologize that I wasn't there, but I'm happy for you" he says with a bright smile. "It's alright, thank you" I say with a fake smile. Cassius nodded and walked away with his maids and I was alone again.
It was so awkward after he said that. My main focus is to find Kate and to fix things.
I ran into my bedroom and looked around, she wasn't here. I thought maybe she would've came back and waited for me. "That was a quick ceremony, how was it?" Travis asked with a smile. I cleared my throat and took a deep breath, "I didn't like being the center of attention so, it's over now, I need to find Kate" I say.
Travis raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Are you excited to get married tomorrow? Is he handsome?" he then asks.
I sighed and nodded my heard as I stood at the door impatiently.
"Do you have any idea where she is?" I ask. Travis looked up at the ceiling and stayed quiet for a while. "She's probably in her room" he finally says. I immediately left the room and ran to her Kate's bedroom, I was hoping that she was still there.
I knocked on the door and stayed silent. I heard two voices coming from inside, they were arguing.
I was relieved when I realized that the door was open and I could just walk in. I didn't want to disturb them, but I had to talk to Kate.
You can't just walk in, Lenora!
Just wait outside.
Just.
Wait.
Outside.
I decided to walk into the room as quickly as possible, I didn't know what I was doing. As soon as I got scanned the room, I laid eyes on Kate. She looked anxious and afraid, I soon pushed the door further open and laid eyes on someone else I never knew I would see again.
Lucian. "What is going on here?" I ask, looking at Lucian.
Lucian had a smirk on his face and didn't say a word. Kate was different, she was holding back tears.
"I'm going to ask, one last time" I say with a serious tone. "What is going on here"
Kate then bursts into tears and pulled me in for a hug. I wrapped my arms around her and looked back at Lucian.
"Your....lover told me everything, you know that it's forbidden, Lenora" Lucian says, eyeing me closely.
Oh no.
"Kate doesn't know what she is talking about, nothing happened" I say.
Lucian then walks up to me and leaned forward and smiled. "If all of this is a lie, you have to kiss me" he says. "We broke up, don't be so foolish" I say, looking away from him.
"Do it, or I will go and report to your brother that a rumor had spread about you sleeping with a human" he says and raised an eyebrow.
"Fine" I say and gulped.
This was too much, If anyone found out, Kate will be punished. If i just kissed him, everything will be fine.
I then closed my eyes and leaned forward, our lips met and everything was going well.
Suddenly, Lucian pulled Kate away from me and pushed her away. I ran to help Kate, but Lucian pulled me back and started kissing me again, I tried getting away from him, but he was too strong.
"Let go of me!" I yell, punching and kicking him. Lucian didn't say anything and kept going.
"Let her go!" a voice says from behind us, Lucian pulled away from me and his

Bukod sa'ming tatlo ay may kasama pa kaming lima sa table namin. Bakante pa yung isa. Late siguro. Sa pagmumukha nila ay halos kasing edad lang din namin.
"Ms. Salem, right?" Napalingon naman ako sa nagsalita na ka-table namin.
Hindi ko siya kilala at hindi ko rin alam kung paano niya ako nakilala. Hindi naman malabo ang memorya ko kaya nakasisigurado ako na ngayon ko nga lang siya nakita.
Sina Glenn at Pat ay nakatingin lang sa'min. Pinapanood ang bawat galaw ko at bawat galaw nu'ng lalaking tumawag sa'kin.
"Oh, sorry. We are schoolmates. I saw you nu'ng pinatawag tayo sa office ng Head. I'm Brian by the way, HUMMS student." Nahiya man ay tumango ako sa kanya.
"N-Nice to meet you, Brian. Iya will do." Sabi ko dahil baka Ms. Salem na naman ang itawag niya sa'kin. Masyadong formal at hindi ako kumportable.
"I didn't know you were this pretty. I mean, don't get me wrong sana. Hindi ka kasi palaayos sa school." Nagulat ako sa bigla niyang pagkumplimento sa'kin. Bukod sa hindi ako sanay ay hindi ko rin siya kilala.
Pero, I don't find it offensive naman because what he said is true. Hindi naman talaga ako palaayos.
At sa pagkakaalam ko ay isang beses pa lang niya ako nakita kaya paano niya naman nalaman na hindi ako palaayos?
"It's okay. Hindi naman talaga ako palaayos." Sabi ko na lang at nginitian ko siya.
Dahil katabi ko si Glenn ay agad niya naman ako kiniliti sa bewang. May halong pang-aasar pa.
