Carissa's POV
Next Morning
I cuddled against Scorch more as I woke up. It was getting harder, to be around him... the mate bond was just getting stronger. I was starting to want to mate with him... I didn’t know what to do. I just wanted to focus on the mission at hand. Scorch slept with his shirt off again, so my face is laying on his bare chest. His body was toned and slightly muscular.
I lifted my head to look at Phoenix, who was awake already up and by the fireplace. I put my mask on. "How did you sleep?" It was weird to sleep outdoors but we had to campout, we weren’t close enough to a town with a hotel.
Phoenix turned to me with a creepy smile. "I didn't. How was your sleep Princess?"
I froze at her words. "P-princess? Why would you call me that??" I chuckled nervously.
