Marine swept her room in the dormitory which was not a separate girls’ dorm but just a floor above the boys’ dormitory in the university building. She shared her room with another female student who had already returned from vacations a day prior. Covering her nose and mouth with a wet cloth, she dusted hers and her roommate’s bed when Taylor stepped in.
“Good afternoon! I didn’t know you would be coming today, when did you arrive?” Taylor, her roommate enquired in one breath.
“A few hours back…why? Were you expecting someone else?” Marine replied sarcastically and gave one last blow to the bed with the cane.
“Uh no I meant I didn’t see you down in the dining hall. Lisa stated that you would arrive a day later,” Taylor explained coherently and tilted her head as Marine continued cleanin
