“I hope you don’t mind that I joined him,” Lily asks me and I shake my head. “I was a little jealous when he said he’d get to spend so much time with you today.” “I’m glad you did,” I tell her with a genuine smile and I feel a little bad that I didn’t even think to ask her. They enter the tent, Benjamin carrying a small chair with him and zip it up behind them. Lily sits on the ground next to the mattress and takes my hand, pulling me to her. “Benjamin told me how you covered for him. Thank you,” she whispers so softly that I can barely hear her, and I’m amazed she’s able to. She’s probably had a bit of practice to keep secrets from the wolves since she can’t mind link, though.
