Chapter 9 Without trying to track down Owen Lafferty, I figured I’d tapped out on the knowledge I could gain talking to the family members who were present the day Mathis was murdered and, other than a few names I’d gleaned from Faye and a bit of a time line from Brian, I didn’t have much. Horace Bailey still lived in town. He didn’t know me but I knew him to see him. I figured if he’d talk to me, he might have a little different perspective to offer up, especially where it came to Tanner Mathis.
