“Hey. Where the hell did this thing come from?” she said. Markus turned and replied with a welcoming smile; he was a fellow warrior that she’d actually known for many years, especially back in the days of training.
“Apparently the mine dug it up from somewhere,” he said, looking at her, clearly pleased to see her again after all this time. He reached his arm out to touch her shoulder, showing a subtle gesture of affection towards her.
“What do you mean?” Mia asked
“Apparently, when they went to blow open a new part of the mountain, the creature was hidden in there somewhere… they obviously woke it up somehow.”
Just for a few brief moments, Mia turned and watched, as she visually started to strategize how she was going to help the attack.
