Alessandra’s POV “He’s into you, you know…” Laurie explained in a muffled interruption made by her lips bent specifically to accommodate the applicator of her lip gloss. My eyes shot up at her within the reflection beside the sink as I shook my head. For the last two weeks, Troy had managed to amaze my friends. Conrad fixated on his stories of ‘roughing it’ with his nomadic lifestyle, while Laurie was more immersed in the way his eyes caught the light and his muscles tensed as he adjusted himself in whatever setting we found ourselves within. It didn’t stop them from continuously inviting him in places I thought were reserved for us. Which today meant the cafe right off of the campus. But even if they saw him as some new wonder of the world, I couldn’t shake this feeling of uncertainty
