Aaron’s POV Everything rushed me like a wave to shore. An unwanted and cruel tide reminding me of the memories I believed I had buried until now. My hand clutched against my chest hard enough to leave behind a claw mark tearing into the fabric of my shirt. My body was in tremors as I rested at the edge of my bed. Like a fever breaking from a virus, my body had survived again. But the same could not be said for my mind. The only hope to my soul lay a few doors down fast asleep, where I prayed to whatever God would listen to spare her from me.
