Chapter 16 Screw a Mate

I got out of the shower and decided to go to the garden, it always calmed me down. My phone began to ring. I didn't look at the caller ID I just answered.

"Hello."

"Hello love."

"Who is this?"

"Don't ask questions just listen. If you want to see Sky again you'll do what I say."

"Alright but how do I know that you have her?" I heard a baby crying in the back. Oh god! My baby! She’s alive!

"What do you want me to do? I’ll do anything just don't hurt her!"

"She's fine, meet me at the pack's border alone! If you tell anyone or have someone follow you I'll know. If you do i'll raise her as my own like I did you but this time I won't be so nice." My face paled, I was panicking.

"OK I'll be there, alone I promise. Just don't hurt my baby."

"Tomorrow 10 o'clock. And remember I have people watching." He hung up. I couldn’t breath, that bastard had my baby. I wasn’t going to go on the date with Adam at first but seeing as I may die tomorrow why not have a fun time before.

I woke up got showered and dressed. I tried to act normal so nobody would know that something was up. I went to the pack house to find Adam. As I was walking out Kendra walked in.

“I need to talk to you.” I should kill her where she stands. My hands were itching to go around her neck. We walked to the trees to have some privacy.

“I'm sure you got the phone call. I’ll be watching you so don’t try anything. I’ll be at the guest house to get you at 9:45 to take you to the border so be ready.” She was smirking. I wanted to slap her but I didn’t, I needed to be on my best behavior until I got my baby back. Adam was in his office doing paperwork. He looked up and smiled when he saw me.

“I decided to go on the date with you but I have to be back early, I have an appointment tomorrow morning. ” He got up and kissed my forehead.

“Thanks. I promise you won’t regret it. Be ready at 6.“

I can’t believe she said yes. I called one of the pack members to set everything up, she was happy to help. I don’t know why I was so nervous when I asked. I just didn’t know if she would say yes, I know that this is her first date and she doesn’t like expensive things or crowds. I had the perfect date set up.

I didn’t know what to wear. I was nervous as hell and I don’t know why, it was just Adam. I decided to wear a yellow sun dress. It was kind of tight around my boobs since the babies but I guess Adam liked it because he was always staring. My doorbell rang right on time.

“Hello Adam.”

“You look beautiful.” I blushed and said thanks. He gave me flowers then we left.

“Where are we going?” He just smiled and said it’s a surprise. He pulled over on the side of the road.

“What’s going on?”

“Put this blindfold on, I want to surprise you.”

“Ok but if you run me into a tree I’m going to kill you!”

“Ha ha Sarah. Now turn your head.” After about ten minutes the car stopped and he helped me out. We walked for a few minutes then we stopped. He left me for a few.

“Adam?” Nothing, I was getting nervous so I decided to take the blindfold off.

“Don’t do that Sarah.” I jumped at his breath tickling my neck. He took off the blindfold. I gasped when I looked around. It was so pretty. The grass was bright green, the trees were tall, and my favorite flowers. Lots and lots of flowers, but none of that compared to the small waterfall. The water was crystal blue and you could see to the bottom of the stream.

“Wow Adam it’s so beautiful. How did you find this place?”

“My grandfather showed it to my dad and my dad showed it to me. This is where he proposed to my mom.” Aww this was the perfect place to have a first date.

“Come sit and eat. I didn’t know what you like so I got some of everything.” I sat down across from him we ate in a comfortable silence.

“I was thinking that if you wanted to maybe we could give it a go on our relationship. I mean if you wanted to.”

“What about Kendra?”

“I don’t care about her. I was only gathering evidence against her so that I could break up with her without starting a war. I know she’s been seeing a guy but we can never see his face and we always lose her after a certain point. She’s really good at sneaking around.” Oh I know who he is. I thought to myself. I didn’t say anything, I was having a good time and didn’t want to ruin it.

“I don’t know Adam. I’m still not completely over what you did to me.” He looked down defeated. I never wanted to hurt him but I had to honest.

“I understand. I’ll wait until you're ready. Even if it takes a lifetime I’ll make it up to you and the kids.” I looked in his eyes. I knew he meant it. I was tired of always fighting with my wolf about giving him a chance. She didn’t want to see him sad but we were getting along good as friends.

“Ok Adam we can try. I’ll give you one chance don’t screw it up.”

“I promise you won’t regret this. Thank you. I love you I love you I love you!” He said while kissing all over my face. I couldn’t help but to laugh. Seeing him so happy made me happy. Our kiss started out innocent but didn’t end that way. We made love two times before I checked my phone to see what time it was.

“Adam we have to go. I miss Lucas and I need to get to bed for my appointment in the morning.”

“Alright let’s get dressed and head back.”

I can’t believe she agreed to give us a chance. I was ecstatic, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. I never imagined that I would have her in my arms again. When we got home she gave Lucas a bath. I kissed her goodnight and she went to the guest house.

“I see the date went well.” My dad smiled.

“Yes thanks for the advice and the idea she loved it! She agreed to give me another chance and I won’t mess up.”

“It’s about time son. I’ll see you in the morning.” I lifted an eyebrow.

“Where are you going?” I didn’t notice he was dressed casual instead of his normal jeans and t-shirt.

“I have a date. Thanks to Sarah and her talk I asked out someone who I've liked for a long time.”

“It’s about time dad. I know you loved mom but she would want you to be happy. When do I meet her?”

“Slow down son it's only our first date, let’s see if I can make it through. I haven’t been on a date in years.”

“You’ll do fine” It was about time my dad had a date. I was starting to think that he would never move on. Yes I loved my mom but I wanted to see dad happy again.
