"I'm terrified of everything. What else can I do? I'm afraid that I'm too weak, too delicate," I said, tears streaming down my cheeks as I stared around the hall, reciting a poem I read some time ago when I was still happy with my mother.
When I heard the door creak, I turned to face it, ready to act if something went wrong. All I could see was a towering guy approaching me.
I couldn't see clearly because I was dizzy. I hadn't taken anything in, but it seemed like I had passed out for quite some time.
It became obvious that the figure was a guy as it got closer. He had dark hair, dark eyes, a big chest, and a pale complexion. He had a sharp nose and narrow lips.
I snapped out of my reverie, a bewildered expression on my face, as he stated
"Jenny, my daughter." the man in front of me said in his deep voice
" Do you think I'm joking with you?" he asked, as I broke into laughter and stared at him.
"Yes, you're joking, since everything here is absurd.
I doubt I'd believe a random man who dispatched his men to kidnap me would just show up and claim I'm his daughter". I said, still staring at him with a serious horrified expression on my face,
"Like who does such a thing now?"
"Let's cut the nonsense and get this party started; I've got a burial to attend to." I turned around and walked up to a wooden stool to get a seat.
He stated, "it was taken care of."
"Who the heck are you, huh?" I said it loudly, on the verge of going insane.
"Why would you abduct me, declare me your daughter, and then bury my dead mother?"
My heart wrenched as I sensed a fire burning within me. I didn't want to cry in front of him; I had no idea why I was there or where I was going.
Before I could say anything, he grabbed my hands and said, "I'm Luca, and you're my Laura."
"You are the successor to my throne; your mother and I gave birth to you, but we were forced to separate since she was human."
My family was opposed to our marriage, so I asked her to travel far. I recognized Helen was expecting you in her womb. "
At that point, I couldn't hold back the tears any longer, and Luca hugged me to his chest, unable to hear a single heartbeat.
"W...what are you, Luca?" I asked, staring up at his face.
"I am a vampire, the King of Vampires, and you, Laura, are the next after me," he continued, his face brightening with a smile.
