The battered, old pickup truck rumbled along the dirt track, sending a great plume of dust swirling into the night.
“Are you okay to drive?” asked Daniel, resting a hand on his partner’s thigh.
“Yeah, it’s just been a long night,” replied Karl, rubbing Daniel’s hand. “Did you have a good birthday?”
