Amelie was at work typing away at her desk. Making sure she finished all of her tasks before the day ended. She has been working for a Valderguild Industries for 5 years now. Misty and she had applied for the receptionist positions.
They were hired on but not as the receptionists. They were hired as assistants to the partners or Vanderguild Industries. Vanderguild Industries was a company that sold Military grade uniforms to the troops at war. They made all types of bulletproof vest and armor that would protect those who served.
Amelie was making sure all of the right shipments had made it to their destinations. When a sudden urge to throw up overcame her. She was feeling heavily nauseous.
"Amelie? Are you ok?" Misty spoke In a worried tone. As she shot Amelie a worried glance from across the office. Misty and Amelie shared a rather large office and loved every second of being there.
"I knew we shouldn't have had sushi last night." Amelie groaned as she got up and headed to the bathroom.
"You're not sick, are you? You know Greg will have a fit if you miss a day. He has absolutely no idea what to do if you're not here. " Misty spoke as she followed her best friend into the bathroom.
"I'm not sick Misty, it was just the sushi from last night. Aren't you affected by it?" Amelie questioned as she wiped her mouth with a paper towel after rinsing it out with water.
Amelie had just heaved some phlegm but none of her stomach contents.
"I mean this morning I was feeling a bit sickish but it's gone now." Misty smiled ever so cheerfully.
"Yeah, must have been the sushi. C'mon lets get back to work." Amelie brushed off with a shrug. She usually never gets sick and she found this rather odd but she decided to pay it no mind.
Hours passed and finally time to go home came around. As Amelie started to pack her bags there was a knock at the office door. Misty was out making copies in the printer room. So it was up to Amelie to stand up in her 3-inch heels and open the door.
"Amanda hey, how can I help you?" Amelie smiled kindly at the elderly woman.
"Just the routine drug test sweetheart" Amanda spoke with a soft smile.
"Oh, of course, how could I forget, well madam HR please lead the way." Amelie chirped happily.
She followed Amanda into the ladies room. The nauseous feeling returning but Amelie said nothing about it. Since she had decided that it was definitely the Sushi she paid it no mind.
"Okay, like always. Pee in the cup baby." Amanda smiled as she handed Amelie her drug test.
"Of course." Amelie smiled as she took the cup into the stall.
"I'll be right back honey," Amanda spoke out loud.
"Wait, don't you have to make sure I don't use someone else's pee?" Amelie giggled.
"Amelie, please. You've been with this company for 5 years, I know you're clean. Plus you're the only one in the bathroom." Amanda giggled.
Amelie smiled. She started to pee in the cup. Once she was done she stood up and walked out of the stall. She flushed the toilet and washed her hands.
"I would hate staring at pee all day," Amelie mumbled to herself.
"Trust me, that's the worst part of the job," Amanda spoke from behind making her jump.
"Jesus Amanda. You startled me." Amelie smiled at the older woman.
"I'm sorry sweetheart" Amanda spoke in an apologetic tone.
"Don't worry about it Amanda, Amelie gets scared over anything," Misty spoke while walking into the ladies room.
"Alright, let's get this done I really have to pee." Misty sighed.
The routine began once again but this time it was for Misty.
"You know I've been having to pee every twenty minutes today. I think I drank too much water." Misty grumbled.
"Yeah, or that fact that your bladder is the size of a bean." Amelie giggled.
"It is not!" Misty argued.
Amanda stared at the cup with pee carefully while the girls bickered back and forth.
"Misty may I see your results please," Amanda spoke in a cheerful tone.
"Sure thing Hun" Misty spoke as she handed Amanda the cup filled with her urine.
Amanda smiled while Misty began to wash her hands.
"What's making you smile Amanda?" Amelie questioned.
"Well, it seems you girls sure do love doing stuff together." Amanda smiled.
"I don't quite follow," Misty spoke in a confused tone.
"Well, either my drug test is wrong or y'all are pregnant." Amanda smiled once again.
"Pregnant?!?!" Amelie and Misty yelled in unison.
"Careful ladies I may be old but my hearing is still good." Amanda scolded as she placed the urine cups in a bag and took off her gloves.
"Sorry," both girls apologized as they looked at each other in confusion.
Pregnant? Amelie couldn't be pregnant. She didn't remember doing any- ... OH s**t. Amelie mentally screamed.
The guy from the bar a couple of weeks ago. Oh God does this make her a w***e now? No. She only slept with two guys her whole life. That makes her sounds like a saint. But still pregnant from a one night stand?! Only she would be deemed so lucky as to get pregnant from a one night stand.
Amelie sighed, great now it's just her, Misty, and her baby... wait did Amanda say both?
'MISTY IS PREGNANT?!'
"AMELIE! HOW COULD YOU?!" Misty yelled.
Wait... What?!
"What?!" Amelie yelled back.
"How could I?! How could YOU?!" Amelie retorted.
"Oh My God, You're right. HOW COULD I?!" Misty yelled with horror.
"I'M A SLUT!!" Misty cried.
"Misty Calm Down." Amanda tried to sooth a hysterical Misty.
"We're pregnant... but h-how?! I mean... I know how but like HOW?!" Amelie spoke.
"It was just a one night stand." Misty sobbed.
"This sure was a night to regret," Amelie spoke in worry.
"This is all your fault!!" Misty yelled in anger.
"You got me pregnant!! You made me go out, I told you it was a bad idea!" Misty yelled with a tear-stained face.
Amelie couldn't even be to apologize, Misty was right. If it weren't for Amelie they would both be working hard on their career and not worrying about being two single moms.
"Misty, I'm so sorry. You're right. This is all my fault." Amelie Whispered.
Misty didn't listen to the apology her best friend was giving her. She was too busy being overly dramatic about being pregnant. Amanda was softly consoling her hysterical employee while trying to convince Amelie that it wasn't her fault. Things like this tend to happen. It could happen to anyone.
After 20 minutes of being in the bathroom with two hysterical ladies, Amanda finally got them to settle down. Misty apologized for attacking her best friend and Amelie apologized for getting them into the situation.
It was a quarter to six when they decided to leave Amanda's office and head home. Once they arrived home they settled on the couch and decided to talk about it as calmly as they possibly could.
"I'm sorry Misty." Amelie apologized for the 15th time.
Misty sighed as she looked at her best friend. It was obvious the news had hit them hard but Misty felt as if everything was just so surreal.
"It's okay Amy," Misty whispered.
Amy was a short and cute nickname that she had come up with for Amelie. She used it on special occasions when she wanted to let Amelie know that everything was fine.
" I guess it really isn't your fault. Come to think of it, it's my fault I should have just gone home with you. That night we were just so... so happy. I didn't want it to end." Misty sighed as she held her best friend's hand.
"I know what you mean. Being with Alexandrov was like being in a fairy-tale. It was like getting a happy ending or spending 7 minutes in heaven." Amelie added as she squeezed Misty's hand.
Both girls felt horrible about how they handled that night but they couldn't deny that they loved every minute of it. Now it was time to face the real world and they had absolutely no clue what to do next. They knew for a fact Abortion was out of the question. The babies didn't ask to be made it just happened.
"Why didn't you make him wear a condom?" Amelie questioned Misty.
"I did, but I guess it broke. Did you guys use a condom?" Misty spoke in question.
"No. I was so caught up in him that when I felt him I couldn't resist him." Amelie sobbed.
"God I'm such a whore." She wailed.
This was the first time Misty had ever seen Amelie burst out like that and she couldn't help but console her friend through it. She hugged Amelie and shushed her until her tears were no longer falling.
"We just have to relax and work this out. Together." Misty smiled as she looked at her best friend.
"Remember when my parents passed away and I cried and cried and you were there for me?" Misty whispered with tears in her eyes.
Amelie didn't reply, she simply nodded her head and looked at Misty.
"Do you remember what you said?" Misty whispered as her voice cracked.
"You may think that your family is gone and you may feel like you are all alone but, I will always be here for you. Watching over you." Amelie whispered to her.
Misty simply smiled and pulled Amelie into a hug.
"I will always be here for you too," Misty whispered into Amelie's ear.
After about a 20 minute hug the girls decided it was time to stop feeling sorry for themselves. It was time they started to plan their future. They had special gifts on the way.
