"Varekesh ek mun dah." No matter how many times Uther replayed those words in his head, he couldn't make sense of them. His father on the other hand had a knowing look spread on his face which made Uther realize the old dragon understood them perfectly. And when the dragon scepter suddenly dimmed in his father's hand Uther knew exactly what those words were for. He felt it too when those words left Kaida's mouth. It was as if he was eavesdropping on a very private conversation between his father and his maiden. He realised that they were not meant for him too, but whatever it was Kaida said, not only got his father to calm down but it awakened something in him that had got him feeling more possessive over her than ever. He reached for his goblet and gulped a mouthful of his wine.
