"What shall I call you?" Kaida rubbed the sides of her new beast's face and the horse leaned into her touch happily. The animal's reaction made her smile and eased the ache that was brewing in her chest. Uther had stormed off earlier, leaving her behind in the armory, alone and aching. She realised it was something he did whenever he wished not to blow up. At least not in her face. While everyone else got their dues right there and then, he seemed to take a moment with her. But even that thought could not ease the ache she had felt when she was faced with his retreating back. She sighed loudly as she wished he had done the opposite and blown up at her too.
