Uther's voice rang out in Skarlax and it awakened every nerve ending in Kaida's body too. He was here, finally. The only person she hoped to see the moment she received word that the king wished to see her.
She hadn't been summoned to the throne room since her last encounter with the king in his intimate chambers. She was glad too, because she didn't wish to gaze into the old dragon's eyes, afraid of betraying his trust. Which she knew her own sad eyes would do the moment she saw him.
But when Symund informed her of the king's wishes, she jumped at the chance and put her fears aside only because she wished with everything in her to see her prince. She heard he would be present too.
