5. The Auction (Part 1)

2411 Words
Leo Saturday evening, I was dressed in a sharp black Hugo Boss three piece, ready to go. One long glance in the standing mirror and I cannot really believe I was going to do this. Going to buy a girl from a bloody auction. It was common, men in families like ours do that all the time just out of fun. But despite of knowing all that, I felt uneasy and weird. Shaking my head, I pulled on my watch, shoved my wallet and Colt in my pocket and took a long, deep breath. Okay, I was ready...for whatever was in store. "Wow, these invitations are chic," Massimo mumbled, turning the black and gold invitation card that arrived yesterday for the auction round and round in his hands. It held the seat number, a secret code and a secret name. Each participant was to be addressed by that code and name allotted to them. And only they should know it. Privacy was extremely important. "I am 018, Hungry Alpha..." Massimo guffawed as he read out his code name, shaking his head at some inside joke. "I wonder how do they know that. Anyways, what's yours?" I shot him a sideways look and shook my head. "You will find out eventually," I replied, pouring myself another glass of champagne. "Are you up for bidding too?" "No," He shook his head, throwing one long leg across the other. "Miami will kill me if I do. And anyways, I am your best friend...we can always share, right?" He laughed out again. I grimaced. This guy really has no preamble. I had no idea how, Miami, his girlfriend has managed to stick by his side for two years now. Weren't girls big on loyalty? I was pretty sure Massimo never heard that word. "No," I said flatly. "Whoever I buy tonight is going to be the mother of my child...eventually. This is not for fun," Massimo scoffed at my words, popping open a can of beer. "She isn't going anywhere. Once brought, she is with you forever, Leo. You will get plenty of time to make her the mother of your child or children. Have some fun before that and let me too..." He winked, clinking his can with mine glass. Massimo was a hedonistic bastard and women were his biggest weakness. If he ever lays his eyes on a girl, needless to say, she will be his. By hook or by crook. The thought left a bad taste in my mouth. Women were my weakness too but not the way Massimo's were. He was downright deviant. "We will see," I said with a shrug. The thought of sharing a woman with Massimo wasn't appealing to me. At all. But not wanting to start an argument, I decided to let it pass for the night. First, I have to see what rather who I take home tonight. I was going there with a blank mind. I had no idea what happens after I get the girl. Where will she stay? With me? In my room? No f*****g way. What was I going to tell my mother? Will she even want to mother my child? f**k. This was complicated. I scowled and glanced outside the window. We will see as it comes. The auction was a very exclusive and secretive affair, held in one of the private banquets of a premier seven star hotel. Until the day of the event, nobody actually knew where it was going to be held in the first place. Guests were asked to dress in proper formals and were given masquerade masks for privacy. Mine was a simple black one while Massimo's actually looked like a werewolf's head in gold. "Alpha much?" He asked, putting the mask on and making a growling noise in his throat. I rolled my eyes and shook my head at the same time as we climbed out of the limo. It's hard to believe sometimes that he was my best friend. How and most importantly why was he my best friend again? Because in general, I hated people like him. After going through a thousand security checks we were ushered to a banquet hall in the basement. It looked more like one of those exclusive movie theatres with recliners and your own private area. Booked at the exclusive lounge, our seats were right in front of the big stage with it's red silk curtains, down for the time being. Each sitting area was divided and separated by steel railings, creating your own personal space. There were comfortable leather recliners, two in our case with a coffee table that held a beautiful arrangement of red roses in the center. There was also an ice bucket on it with several assortments of liquors in it and long stemmed glasses arranged neatly at the corner. I was amused to find arrangements of Pringles there too along with assortments of chocolates and dry fruits. The last thing on that table was a golden placard with names of the girls off for auction today scribbled on it in red Italic font. It was as per the sequence they will be presented. My curiosity piqued, I picked up the card and scanned the names. I can bet my ass these weren't their real names. 1. Mia 2. Elena 3. Fendi 4. Beatrice 5. Fiora 6. Carmen 7. Andrea 8. Katarina 9. Luisa 10. Sierra Just ten girls for so many bidders? I gazed around and was amazed to find that the entire hall was completely full. I was even more surprised to find women, dressed in their best and talking in hushed tones as they scanned the cards and everything else in general. I had no idea women took part in this too. "I liked the name Fendi...sounds sassy," Massimo distracted me, already sipping on a bottle of Cheval Blanc. "What do you think?" "Fiora and Carmen maybe," I replied, with a shrug. "Mia too," "Mia never fails," Massimo chuckled again, lost in another of his inside jokes. "Let's see...I am bloody excited," "Really? Can't tell," I muttered sarcastically as the lights slowly dimmed out, turning everything dark. The only light that came was from the neon blue lights that hung over each sitting area. "There are women here," I hissed, folding my arms across my chest. "Woman bidders," Massimo turned his masked face towards me slightly and snorted. "Rich bored wives looking for different kind of fun," He replied with a nonchalant shrug. "Their own play toy because their husbands are never at home. The world is an open space brother. There is anything and everything people would try these days," I was amazed, I would admit that. Before I could reply, a strong male voice flooded through the speakers distracting us. The auction is now about to begin," He said in fluent English. "I would request everyone to please maintain the rules, authenticity and sophistication of this place. The rules are as follows: if you are interested in a candidate and want to bid, just raise the paddles provided to you with your unique code printed on it. If you win a bid, you are requested to follow our staff so that you can pay and collect your bid prize. Please stay seated in your places and place your bids calmly. The girls are not to be touched until the entire transaction is completed. Thank you...I hope you have a lovely experience," It was unnerving how these people were treating these girls like a thing, like some ornament or expensive antiques to be brought and sold. The excitement around the hall was palpable. I hated to admit it but the world will never be a better place to live until people like these, both the bidders and the auctioneers, people like me, continue to exist. "Ah...it's beginning," Massimo rubbed his hands in glee as the curtains rose, revealing a large stage with a podium in far corner and a raised platform in the center, the type girls stand on when they try out wedding dresses. Beside it was a medium size projector. This was all so elaborate, I couldn't help but marvel myself. Nobody will say that girls, humans of blood and flesh were being sold here. It was crazy but I will admit it, I felt excited too. Five minutes later, a man dressed in a grey suit walked out and took the podium. He took in the full hall and looked pleased. "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen," His voice rang high and confident through the speakers. "Welcome to the auction. Tonight, you will witness what only a lucky few get to in their lives. The girls up for auction here are trained to cater to all your...needs, if I may. They are beautiful but they are also smart and sharp and...obliging. So, are we all ready to witness who takes in the best prize tonight?" An encouraging cheer escaped through the room and from beside me and the guy laughed, looking pleased. f*****g bastard. "Sorprendente!" He clapped his hands. "The auction shall begin now. Please maintain the decorum and follow the rules," The lights dimmed out again and except for the podium, everything else went dark. A curtain fell partially on the stage area that was separated from where the guy stood. There was some kind of preparation going on and the excitement that evoked around the hall, I could freaking taste it. Around two or three minutes later, he nodded at someone lightly before turning to the guests. "Our first participant for tonight...beautiful, stunning and a talented pianoforte player...Mia!" He exclaimed, stretching out the name into a Miaaaa, the a's echoing violently through the room. I scoffed at the word participant and Massimo turned his eyes to me. "What?" He asked. "Any problem?" "Where does the word participant fits here?" I asked, god knows why feeling irritated suddenly. It must be the noise. "Oh some of these girls are willing participants," He answered, lighting a cigar. "Not everyone is forced," I blinked at his wolf head and frowned. "What?" I hissed, still processing the words. "Girls get into this willingly?" He nodded his head lightly. "Sometimes. Those who are into this and all the role-playing stuff...I am sure you know what I mean?" He replied, distractedly. "Now watch please...it's Mia," He said Mia as if he has known her for a hundred years. Stunned, I turned my eyes to the stage and watched as the curtain lifted and a girl wearing nothing but black lacey lingerie stood on the raised platform, a black masquerade mask on her eyes. "And we have...Miaaaaa!!" He bellowed again, as the girl pulled down her mask. Lights from all four directions were focused on her as she smiled brightly and bowed. Her hairs were shoulder length blonde with a curvy physique and really great legs. She walked down the platform and did a little catwalk to the front of the stage, swaying her body seductively. On the screen behind, all her specifications were given. Height, weight, measurements, eye color...everything. "Let's start the bidding, shall we?" The MC muttered, as Mia took her position back on the platform, still smiling. They must train these girls real hard. If I had been there, I would have screamed the place down. But then again, what do I know? "Let the bidding start at fifty-thousand Euros," He said. "Fifty thousand Euros for stunning Mia...anyone? Fifty-thousand Euros?" "Fifty-thousand," Someone on the opposite aisle, wearing a red feathery mask raised his paddle. "Fifty thousand...do we have more? Fifty-one thousand anyone?" He sang. "Fifty-one for Mia?" "Sixty-thousand," It was a female voice and everyone cheered enthusiastically. "Aren't you going to bid?" Massimo demanded. "Come on?" I stared at the girl and shook my head. There was nothing different in her. She was just the same like all the girls I have seen before. I wanted something else. Someone who was...different. "Not interested," I answered, taking a sip of my wine. "Nothing special," Massimo snorted at my comment, practically drooling at the sight of Mia. "She is stunning," He commented and I couldn't refrain from rolling my eyes. "Every woman is stunning to you," I said flatly. He chuckled at my sarcasm and raised his glass in a toast. "Fourteen million dollars...going once, going twice and sold!" The guy cried out. "To 029 Sweet Siren!" I lost track of the bid but turned my head to see a woman in a white evening dress standing up and doing a dramatic bow before she followed a couple of people out. "Nice," Massimo grinned, no doubt his disgusting mind building up even more disgusting scenarios. I wasn't homophobic or anything to be honest. I was accepting of everything but...I wouldn't want to dive into imaginations for sure. The next girl up was Elena. Tall and slim with strawberry blonde hairs. She too was just the same. Nothing different. And to be honest, I wasn't even sure what I was looking for. What I knew was that if I look at girl, I wanted to feel it. The I-want-her-at-any-cost kind of feeling but so far, there was nothing. "At this rate, we will run out of girls, Leo," Massimo chastised. "We have three gone already. What's wrong with Fendi?" "I don't like pixie cut girls..." I answered flatly, though I don't think that was the reason. But Massimo, the hungry alpha, would never understand anyway so I'd rather not waste my time. "She was hot," "We still have seven to go," "We will see," He said sarcastically. "Next up is...Beatrice. The name sounds innocent for some reason," I couldn't agree any less. She was already a no for me. I don't like the name Beatrice, even if it might not be her real name to begin with. "Ladies and gentlemen...next up is..." He stared at the list and his face scrunched up for some reason. "Uh...we have our lovely Beatrice," The curtains fell again and feeling bored I was about to go out for a smoke since unlike Massimo, I had some manners when her piercing voice stopped me. It was strong and hard. And angry. "Leave me you motherfuckers!" She shouted, if it was her that is. "Let me go!" The MC looked uncomfortable as s**t as loud murmurs spread through the crowd. For some reason, probably intrigued, I sat back, fixing my gaze on the curtain. Okay, now I was interested...
