38. An Invigorating First Morning

When I woke up the next morning, Amara was missing again. I blinked as bright sunlight spread through the room and yawned. I felt well rested. And famished. Climbing down, I went about looking for Amara and was surprised to find her sitting cross-legged on the rug in our walk-in. Our walk-in. I liked the sound of that. She looked distressed, muttering to herself.  Leaning on the door frame, I took my time to watch her. Sly girl, she has already taken a shower so that I can't drag her in with me. Wrapped in a huge bathrobe, her long wet hair sticking to the material, she scrambled through her bag, god knows looking for what. She looked so small and adorable that it brought a smile on my face.  "What are you looking for?" I asked. Amara almost jumped before turning to me with a scowl. Oh h
