Joe's POV
I walked into the office hearing the phone ringing off the damn hook. "Hello," I barked into the phone. I did not want to start my day like this.
"May I speak with King Joe?" I heard a woman say on the side of the receiver.
"Greetings, this is King Joe," I used the formal greet I had been told my times.
"Hi, this is Loredana the liaison that was hired for your tour of Europe " She started, "I wanted to touch base with you on your arrival in few weeks." Her voice soft and respectful all at once.
"Ah, yes what do you require from us?" I was curious how this would work out.
"Nothing more than the number of people you will be bringing and what will be required of your security head." She asked.
"There will be 15 people some are mated but most will be unmated. There will be one that will be coming and going whenever." Counting the people on my fingers as I spoke.
"Will there be any special requests that need to be filled?" You could hear her writing down things as she asked.
"Blood foods for our wandering guest, and plenty of snacks and meals. The were-bears will need plenty, as will my mate and the rest." I was not sure of Hawk's actual requirements but noted he did eat a lot.
"Got it, I have never met a were-bear anything I need to be aware of we don't see them often here in Europe." The comment surprised me. I would have thought with Mortou they would have.
"Nothing much different except they act much like Alphas. So treat them with respect." I hear myself say with a smirk.
"Ok," She paused as she wrote some things down. "I think I have all I need for now." She jotted something else down. "May I call you if I have more questions?" Loredana seemed to be double-checking.
"Sure," I inwardly groaning thinking she would be calling every five minutes.
"Thank your Highness." Then the phone clicked off. I was a bit surprised, Elder Brain would like her. I chuckled, another f*****g adventure lay ahead and I wasn't sure what was gonna play out. I didn't like it one bit.
I glanced at my calendar and seen that Elder Brain and his wife would be arriving this afternoon. Hey darling, Elder Braun and Pinky will be showing up this afternoon. I mind-linked at her.
I am already greeting my wolf. I heard her giggle as I snapped to look at the clock. s**t, how did the time go?
I ran out of the office and down to the gate to see that everyone was already headed into the house. So I trotted up the back porch and in through the kitchen to meet them.
"Ah, there you are Joe," I heard Elder Braun chuckled as he raised his hand to shake.
"The office seems to suck one's soul out." I gave a haphazard smile.
"That can happen," Elder Braun glanced at Hawk who walked from my old room. I could see him stiffen.
"Hawk comes to say hi," I grinned seeing Amber come out with him. I could see Ronan was with Jewel and Maya.
"He is coming?" Elder Braun stood near me blocking out the girls.
"Of course he is coming." I chuckled watching the scene unfold.
"Oh sweet mother of God," I heard Maya say as she smacked me shoving Elder Braun and me out of the way. "Elder Brun this is Cacodemon and his mate Amber." She led Amber forward, glancing at me "I will deal with you later wolf." She growled as her eyes flashed the bright violet.
I giggled, knowing she was mad. It was always cute to watch. "Can't wait darling" I winked swatting her butt.
"Hawk, Amber, and their son will be accompanying us on the trip. He has a few assignments to deal with and will help us with Velito." Maya seemed a little more stern than normal. "I will not be tension, as he can be trusted." I could almost hear her stomp her foot.
"I have seen what that man can do." Elder Braun eyed him, yet nodded then added "This is wife and mate Pinky." He announced lifting his chest. Jewel had handed Ronan to Amber as she ran and jumped into Pinky's arms.
"Eeeee," squealed Jewel as she hugged Pinky for all she was worth.
"You have gotten big," Pinky chuckled popping her back on her own feet. "Not much longer and you should be shifting." Pinky-eyed Amber and Ronan. "There is more dragon here." She raised her nose to the air.
"I am 1/8 dragon," Amber said softly.
"Ah and that explains why your little has a bit of dragon too." She ruffled Ronan's hair.
This must have been news to both of them. They share a look then looked to Maya who nodded, "we will have Athens check." Turning back to eye Elder Braun she said steady and I noted with her wolf present. "Elder Braun, Hawk is family. Treat him as such." There was a bit of growl in her words.
"Yes, my Queen," Elder Braun titled his head a little placing a hand on. Pinky.
"Yes, Elder Braun, he is family." Jewel took Hawk's hand and Amber's in hers. I grinned seeing her eyes flash their unusual black with violet rings.
The poor guy wasn't standing a chance, both females using their Alpha tones on him. I was surprised he was still standing.
"Alright, ladies, let's not badger the poor fellow." I ushered both of them out back where there was a table set up on the porch for dinner.
If things were gonna go like this it was gonna be a long f*****g trip for us, males. I trusted Hawk, he gave me no reason not to. Athens and he had tension as did Mortou and him but they gauged he just needed to find his place here. Which I understood, hell I had needed to do the same. He was the soul taker, know for being Cacodemon. He and Athens I hoped would help us be safer this trip based on their reputations alone. I could only hope I was right.
I did, have to say watching Elder Braun see Hawk gave a grin again. I had wanted to throw him a curveball for all the crap he had given me with Maya. I swore that man was gonna skin me and hang Ravi's hide as a trophy.
It doubtful that the old wolf would have the stomach for it. Ravi huffed in my head before retreating to the back of my mind again.
