Nara
- Amy! This is a horrible idea! We should go back before it's too late! - I said and tried to pull the hoodie of her cape more closed. Princess Amelia giggled.
- Oh come on Nara! You're always out somewhere! I want to see the world too! Also, the next part of my favorite series is out today! I need a copy! - I sighed and rubbed my temple while I kept the other hand holding Amelia's shoulder so she couldn't disappear.
- Amy... I want to see my grandchildren one day, could you please not get me killed before that? - she rolled her gorgeous eyes and scoffed.
- Don't be so strict! We are just visiting the market not the battlefield. Come on! - she said pulling me after her.
- If you want that book so much I'll fetch it for you, please. - I've tried my best but she was relentless.
- The author is signing them today! I want his signature!
- But Amy! You can invite him home and... - she stopped and held my hands.
- Nara, I want to experience this as a normal person. Please... - she looked at me with her begging puppy eyes and I sighed. I put a tracking bracelet on her wrist.
- Fine, but we get the book and go back! - Amy jumped into my neck hugging me like a child.
- You are the best! Let's go before there'll be a long line! - by the time we arrived to the bookstore there was already a long line, but as Amelia wanted, we waited for our turn. In the meantime she chatted with other book enthusiasts, luckily no one recognized her. It was finally Amelia's turn to get her book signed and she squeaked happily thanking to the Author like a kid.
- I love your stories! Thank you so much! - the author smiled politely and when we got the signed book, Amelia hugged it like a dragon would protect it's treasure.
- We got the book, let's head back. - I said but she grabbed my arm locking hers with mine.
- Since we are already here and in trouble, let's enjoy this secret outing to the fullest! - I stopped and she tried to pull me after her.
- We agreed. - I said and Amelia pouted.
- But Nara... - I shook my head and felt like a nanny.
- No. Let's go back. - she finally agreed and a carriage stopped in front of us. I've recognized the crest, with the purple background and silver howling wolf.
- Your Highness, the whole palace is looking for you, Lord Wolfie sent their carriage personally to take you and his beloved fiance back to the palace. - Amy smiled gratefully but something was off. The color of the crest wasn't exactly the same ad it was usually. Also... Beloved fiance? Barak would swing an axe into my chest if he had the opportunity. Amelia was about to get in but I pulled her back.
- Wait a moment. - I said and jumped in, the windows were sealed and there was a sound barrier device installed in the seat.
- Amelia! Run! This is a... - before I could've finished the sentence, Amy lost consciousness and someone put a cloth to my mouth. My vision got blurry and I felt my necklace being ripped off of my neck. Everything went black and I felt defeated. When I finally regained my consciousness, everything was dark around us. We were both tied and Amy was still asleep. The fuckers changed carriages because we were in a cargo carriage already. I freed my hands and untied Amy as well, gently patting her face I woke her up and her eyes filled with tears.
- Nara... I'm so sorry... This is my fault! - I hugged her and shooted her.
- We will get out of this trouble Amy. - the carriage stopped and I jumped up. Luckily, our belongings were next to us. I reached inside my pouch and pulled a pen out. I clicked the pen and it elongated into a long metal stick.
- Stay behind me! - I said and Amy nodded. The door opened abruptly and without hesitation, I've stroke at our kidnapper. The man in mask, shouted in pain as my stick probably broke his skull. I grabbed a little bracelet from my pouch and threw it around him. The thread widened and tightened around our attacker.
- HEY WHAT'S GOING ON? - there were more of them. I pushed Amy into the corner and reached into my pouch agai. I pulled a hair comb out and Amy's eyes widened as I bit the end of the comb off and revealed a hidden short dagger.
- I'll need one of those... - Amy mumbled in awe.
- Focus! - I said and she nodded. The other guy saw his companion and started looking around in the forest for us.
- This is it! Amy come! - I said and grabbed her hand pulling her after me. A third man got in our way, before he could've shouted , I hit his knees and once he bend over, I stuck the dagger into his neck. His dark eyes widened and got clouded in a second. Amy opened her mouth to scream in fear and shock but I managed to cover it. An arrow flew towards us and it hit my shoulder.
- Oh f**k! Hurry Amy! - I said pulling her after me while we heard angry shouting. The pain in my shoulder started getting my judgment cloudy too. I clenched my teeth and hit my injury, so my vision cleared. I released the horses from the carriage and jumped on one.
- Giddy up my Princess! - I said and helped with my still intact shoulder Amy up in front of me. I hit the horse's rare end and heard another arrow flying next to my ear. The horse ran as fast as it could.
- Amy, lean on its neck and grab the mane strongly! - she did as I asked but said nothing. Amelia in the end was a pampered princess, she never had to experience things like this. I gave thanks to Nakos, Elda and Argus for always bringing me along with them when they went camping. I took a glance behind and saw our pursuers approaching fast.
- Amelia, ride as fast as the wind back to the palace! - I said and Amy looked at me.
- Nara, what are you doing? - she asked but I slid off of the horse and hit it even more while I got down.
- HOLD THIGH! - I said and saw hesitation in Nara's eyes.
- RUN!- I said and got ready. The horses were coming fast and I asked for forgiveness from them mentally. I stuck my pens in the ground and clicked them. The horses ran against the sticks and with an ear screeching noise they got paled on them. The horses cried out loudly in pain, throwing their riders off of the reins. Three out of seven, immediately died as their neck snapped landing on the ground.
- GO AFTER THE PRINCESS! I'll take care of this little bug! - the leader shouted and I grabbed my dagger.
- You are not getting out of this forest alive! - I said and threw my dagger stabbing it into the shoulder of one of my attackers. "I just need to gain as much time to Amelia as I can..." - I thought and hit another man charging at me with his sword into the stomach with my last remaining stick. Unfortunately, I got outnumbered even after tying two of them up with bracelets. They hit and kicked me viciously making sure to die there, but then, I heard the horns of the Wolfie Duchy and a smile spread on my face. While my attackers got distracted I got up and grinned.
- Oh you are so f****d up! - I said with blood pouring out of my mouth. One of the attackers raised his hand to hit me again, only to get a dagger into his head, right between his eyes. He fall dead back and his buddy ran away, followed by two Wolfie knights. I took a turn around, my dress was in pieces, I was bleeding from several wounds but kept on my feet. My gaze met Barak's whoo looked at me with horror. I smiled and bowed a bit.
-Took you long enough... Darling.
