The egg yolk sun poured through the cracks in the blind and awaited entrance into  Zora's eyes.

Last night wasn't that eventful, they talked, they laughed and even took selfies while laying down on the bed and in their pajamas.

She groaned while stretching and popping her muscles, she got up and wore the slippers that Griselda gave her.

She went to the bathroom, got a spare toothbrush and towel from the cabinet under the sink, took a quick shower, brushed her teeth and snatched a yellow sundress from the labelled closet.

It read seven and thirty minutes when she glanced toward the kitchen microwave, she got her some instant coffee, sugar and water and whipped it together until it puffed and smelled nice and aromatic, Zora got the milk and ice, placed it into two cute glasses and she put a humble amount of the trendy whipped coffee.

She set the tray on the table in the living room and went towards the bedroom, Griselda is still sleeping peacefully.

" Griselda " Zora shook her sleeping friend awake.

Griselda whined softly then got up and went straight to the bathroom, she brushed her teeth and went to drink the coffee that Zora made.

Griselda always loved the peace in silence and she found peace in this comfortable silence between her and Zora.

She finished the aromatic and refreshing coffee that Zora made, the barks of her service dog Ava invaded the peaceful silence, demanding her owner while tugging her to get her some food.

Griselda smiled and headed towards the kitchen, calling Ava softly.

Zora smiled at their back and decided to pull out the laptop, that she brought the last night, she wanted to check if she got any reply about Griselda's job application, she wrote her password and logged in her sss account, a declare from JL Inc welcomed her, she smiled excitedly while bouncing in her place, she opened it with and the declaration is demanding Griselda to be at JL Inc for the interview at nine in the morning.

Zora looked at the time on her laptop in panic, worried that Griselda is going to be late.

" Gris, you have an interview in JL Inc at nine and it's already eight and thirteen minutes " She yelled loudly so that Griselda can hear her.

" Really?" Griselda came back frowning and surprised at how fast this Inc is working.

" Yeah, take a shower and I will drop you off in front of their building," Zora said in rush and excitement.

Griselda hurried up and took a quick shower using Bio derma shower gel and using Pantene rosewater shampoo and conditioner which are all tagged by little cards by Brielle alphabets.

She dried her hair quickly and styled it professionally, she wore olive stretch work pants with a white layering tank tops and olive stretch work blazer.

And lastly, she wore her black high heels.

" What about Ava? I don't want to let her alone? " She asked while getting out of her room.

" Don't worry, I'm taking her with me to the station and then you come and take her after you finish " Zora smiled at her friend.

" You are grand " Griselda smiled and blushed.

" Thanks " She thanked Zora and shied away.

" Let's go before you get late" Zora hurried towards the door, she got Griselda's white walking cane, Ava's leash and she wore her shoes.

She held the door open for Griselda, latched the leash on Ava's collar and took her laptop and phone.

The building is not that far from Griselda's apartment complex, they reached their destination within ten minutes.

" We're here" Zora announced and looked at the nervous-looking Griselda then smiled slightly.

" You will be amazing, trust me and they will accept you in a heartbeat,"  Zora said caressing her friend's hand, Ava sat at the back while wagging her tail and sitting politely on the seat while looking at the huge building.

"See you later " Griselda waved and took her phone and the white walking cane with her.

Zora left the moment she saw Griselda walking in.

In the old orphanage, the munching sound was heard and that's it, children, teenagers and the rest of the staff were eating Makayla's delicious food.

Jayvyn himself is sitting on the couch he always complains about while eating Makayla's fantastically fluffy and marvellously moist lemon mascarpone package and not forgetting about the homemade mixed berries marmalade with a freshly squeezed orange juice that some of the kids prepared with Makayla.

" I thought that you said you have loads of interviews to do today," Makayla said while sipping her juice.

" s**t " Jayvyn nearly chocked, he forgot about the interviews.

" We have kids here Jay " Makayla warned him with a glare.

" Sorry, I have to go " He took the last bites from his dish, wiping it clean, he gave a quick kiss to Makayla's checks and hurried out.

He got in his Matte Black Audi R8 and sped towards Meurice NYC, where his garments are taken care of, the staff greeted him and gave him a couple of clean suites, he wore the royal blue suit without a tie, he ran out of the Garment care shop and placed the Italian dark green suit on the seat beside him, he bought an iced caramel mocha from Starbucks and headed towards his building.

He was already late.

He reached in front of the building, Jayvyn gave the keys to his valet and asked him to bring the Italian dark green suit from the car and then park it in his garage.

Jayvyn was striding in with hurry, his cup of caramel mocha in his hand, the place was filled, mostly with women.

Soon later, The aromatic coffee is on his white button-up and the delicious cup of coffee is laying on the now dirty floor.

Jayvyn froze in his place, the place fell into silence, now one uttered a word and the shrieks of the annoying woman were heard.

" You f*****g i***t " The woman glared at him, not recognizing who he is.

Some of the employees recognized him and they were shaking in fear and pitied the woman who wore a red revealing dress.

" How am I going to get through this interview" She shouted at Jayvyn, still oblivious about his identity.

" They should throw you out of this building, I don't know how you got in" She shouted with her vexatious voice and Jayvyn was still and silent.

He clenched his fist and looked at her with his dangerous glare that scared most of the people around.

 " Jayvyn? " Vaughn who was waiting with the other in the interviews room and got out when he heard the commotion outside.

Griselda could hear the angry women and her annoying whining.

Vaughn hurried towards the scary-looking Jayvyn and pulled him towards him.

" You alright? " Vaughn asked, seeing that the coffee ruined his suit.

" Interview huh? " Jayvyn smirked and looked at her with anger and rage.

" Security " His growl echoed through the place and planted a shiver down everyone's back.

Griselda was listening to the fight silently, the woman who spilt the coffee on the man was talking to her second ago, she was insulting her and telling her to get out of the building while calling her filthy and useless.

" Boss? " Two big security men jogged towards the CEO.

" Get her out of my building" Her eyes widened.

" Make sure that she doesn't step in again " He glared at her hard.

" You sue her for insulting me and for ruining my mood, " He said while looking at Vaughn and the woman is dragged out of the building.

 Jayvyn scoffed and went straight to his office in the interview room and Vaughn is behind him with his dark green suit.

He snatched it from his hand and placed it on his office's desk, he started stripping from his dirty suit and he wore the dark green one.

 " You are late, where were you?" Vaughn sat on the desk in front of Jayvyn and asked him.

" Madre " He answered shortly and exited his office, entering the interview room.

Vaughn sighed and followed him, he called the receptionist and told her the name of the first name who's going to be interviewed.

Griselda can hear many of them enter the room and get out weeping and whining for not being accepted.

She began to get more nervous, seeing that the arrogant man from earlier is the CEO.

" Griselda Elior " She heard her name being called by the voice that called all of the other women names and it was strange that most of them were women and there were barely any men.

Griselda got up from the marbled bench that she didn't know about, she unfolded her white walking cane and tried to head carefully toward the receptionist's voice.

" Can you lead me to the door, please? "  Griselda asked politely and the lady smiled.

" Of course, give me your hand" The lady walked in front of Griselda and grabbed her hand, she leads her to the dear.

" Get in " She left Griselda in front of the interview room and left to occupy herself by work.

Griselda extended her hand to reach the knob of the door, she grabbed, pulled it down and pushed the door open.

 The room was quiet, she didn't hear any sound, she could only hear her walking cane touching the ground beneath her.

" Have a seat " A rough but a gentle voice broke the silence.

she swiped her cane back and forth until it hit a chair in the middle of the room, she folded her cane and touched the back of the chair then sat.

" What a surprise, " A husky deep voice said this time.

" Griselda Elior? " The gentle rough voice asked.

" Yes," She answered, her back is straight.

" I'm Vaughn Hayes, the secretary and CEO Jayvyn Lionel is sitting beside me "  He introduced himself and Griselda didn't show any reaction.

" Tell me about yourself," Vaughn asked.

" Griselda Elior, I got in New York City police academy for about six months and I became a skillful detective I got pulled out when I became blind," She answered his question with a face out of emotions.

" That's cool " Vaughn smiled while nodding as the fool he is, Jayvyn glared at him, gesturing him to continue the interview.

" Why JL Inc? " He asked a simple question, Griselda didn't know the answer, she doesn't about their company that much.

" I need a job, I need money, I need commitment, I didn't want to get a job but my friend was persistent, I know that you won't accept because I'm blind"  She answered honestly.

" That's your weakness then " The husky voice that belonged to the CEO who got the coffee spilt on him.

" Excuse me? " Griselda frowned.

" You think that being blind is what stopping you from continuing your normal life, and why would I not accept you in my company? " Jayvyn crossed his arm and leaned back.

"You don't know me, so don't start saying bullshit " Vaughn held back his laughter, not wanting to embarrass his boss anymore.

" Are you willing to work late? " Jayvyn asked her, avoiding what she said earlier.'

" Why?" She asked, not interested in answering.

" Answer the f*****g question " Jayvyn spelt every single word.

" They used to call me at dawn for duties " She answered indirectly.

"You are accepted, " He said not giving anyone the chance to protest.

" Be here tomorrow at 8, everything will be explained to you tomorrow" He said and marched out.

Griselda stayed still, she clenched her hands tightly and huffed and she got up leaving the room.

" Did they forget me?" Vaughn pointed at himself and looked around the room, he chuckled and ran out of the room too.

"Good morning " Zora smiled and greeted her husband with a long-drawn kiss.

" you enjoyed? " Julian asked referring to the sleepover that she had with Griselda.

" Yeah, we had a lot of fun, what happened with the case?" She smiled at her husband who was sitting on his chair and wearing his work attire.

" We found something strange," He said while sighing and glancing." where is Griselda? " he asked while gesturing at Ava who was sitting politely beside Zora.

" JL Inc sent her an e-mail, it said that she should be at their building for an interview " She sighed and sat on the desk " I hope everything goes well ".

" Yeah, she has to move on with her life " Julian nodes.

" What was strange about the case? "  She asked, her mood is dwindling.

" The head doesn't belong to the body, it was someone's else head and the body is in its own, " He told what they had found recently.

" Why would they do that? " Zora frowned.

" That's the question, the head was sewed to the body and we didn't notice at first,"  He said while showing her the pictures. She noticed how the skin colour tone is nearly the same.

" Someone from the FBI is going to come at any time now, we want their help, " He said.

At that moment, a series of knocks were heard and one of their colleagues got in.

" Davis Stone, an FBI agent is waiting to meet you," He said to Julian.

" Let him in "Their colleague nodded and left to call the FBI agent.

Zora pulled Ava to one of the corners, so they could focus on their work.

A few minutes later, a man in his late twenties got in the room, he's wearing blue pants, a grey button-up and green slippers, he had light brown eyes and his hair was styled fashionably with his light beard.

Julian got up and shook his hand and Zora followed next.

" How are you, Davis? " Chief Merrick smiled and gestured to the chair in front of his desk, Zora sat in front of Davis.

" I'm doing fine, how have you been Chief Merrick? " Agent Stone smile showing his white-pearl teeth.

" The stressing me out as it's obvious " Julian chuckled slightly.

" Well, I'm here to put off some of this stress " Zora looked at the sleeping Ava.

" Yeah, let's head to the mortuary, all the bodies are there " They got up and Davis headed to his white Range Rover and waited for Chief Merrick to get in his car, so he could follow him.

" You are not going? " Julian asked his wife who stood in front of the station.

" No, Griselda is going to come here when she finishes dealing with her interview " She replied and smiled.

" Ok, see you later " He pecked her lips softly and got in his black Jeep Wrangler and sped up to the mortuary in Mount Sinai Hospital, Manhattan.

Zora sighed and went back to the station.

Griselda walked straight to the bar where her brother used to sing in.

She sighed and pulled her walking cane back and forth, the noises of the hectic city engulfed her, people did avoid her and some of them pushed her causing her to nearly fall, she followed the route she memorised to the bar.

The bar wasn't crowded due to the early hours.

" Hey Elda " An excited voice greeted her and she found her way to one of the stools.

" Hey William "  She smiled slightly and sat down.

" What do you want ?" William asked her while leaning on closer.

" Fajeto "  Fajeto is a spiced Gujurati Mango beverage and it was one of William's favourite drinks.

" Good choice " He smiled brightly, even if Griselda didn't see it.

" Any new words? " Griselda asked, knowing that William always gets excited while talking about new words.

" of course " He replied while throwing pieces of canned mango pulp, water salt and jaggery and crushed chilli ginger in a saucepan.

" Bumfuzzle," He said and waited until the mixture is heated.

" What does it mean? " She asked and waited patiently, knowing that the drink takes long to be done.

" Well according to Urban Dictionary," He said while turning the heat off to let it cool a little bit. " It means To be confused or to cause confusion to someone " He smiled brightly while adding the beaten yoghurt and mixed well.

" That's a weird word " She chuckled.

" I know " William giggled as if he was a child.

He added the pre-made tempering mixture, which contained mustard seeds, hing powder, curry leaves and dried red chilli, He mixed it well and garnished it with coriander leaves.

" It's hot, let it cool a little bit," He said and placed the drink in front of Griselda.

" I prefer it when it's hot " Griselda shrugged and sipped from her glass.

" You're Bumfuzzling me Elda " They laughed loudly.

After her drink, she paid and left.

It was nearing lunch hour and the streets are slowly getting crowded, with the voice settings on her phone, she got the closest Uber and waited until the car came and she told the driver to head to the police station.

The interview was a comic play, the CEO Jayvyn was the most arrogant man she has ever met, he thinks that the rest of the world is under him, she didn't know why he hired her seeing that she's blind and all, but she hopes that everything goes alright when she starts her forced job.

" We are here, " The driver said and she got out of the car, she didn't need to pay him because she already paid online.

She stepped out of the car and found her way inside the station when her prior colleague stopped her and told her that Zora is waiting in Chief Merrick office.

He leads her to the office and then left, She pushed the door of the office and she was met with licks and barks from Ava. Zora giggled and smiled brightly at the view.

" How did it go? the interview " Zora asked excitedly.

Griselda sighed and Zora thought that they didn't accept her in.

" They told me to be at the company at eight am and everything will be explained " Griselda huffed slightly but Zora didn't note because she was squealing with happiness.

" We should celebrate " Zora laughed loudly.

" That's not necessary Zora " Griselda sighed and sat on one of the chairs.

" It is, but we will wait until Julian is here  " Zora is persistent and doesn't give up easily.

" Where is he? " She asked.

" He went with Davis to the mortuary," She told her and didn't realise that Griselda doesn't know who's Davis is.

" Who's Davis? " Griselda asked, not familiar with the name.

" Oh, yeah, He's an FBI agent that's going to help us with the case, " She told her and pulled her up.

" Come on, I'm going to take the day off, so we can get ready for our little celebration " Griselda sighed and smiled at her friend craziness, she petted Ava and Zora dragged her out of the station.
