"You know the council is discussing it, right?" I informed Enzo as we walked together after school, heading to the basketball court.
"So what? It's not like it's our problem," Enzo shrugged, displaying no worry.
"Enzo!" I had to halt, forcing him to meet my gaze, making it clear that I wasn't joking around.
"We need to talk to the council," I insisted, adamant about preventing Cynthia's arrest.
"Why should we do that? It's not like she's our true, devoted mate. She's been difficult. She's wrecked your sister's life; do you not recall that?" Enzo had a point – if the council removed her, my sister would finally be free from her schemes and games.
