I slid off and onto the floor. Crouching in my thin chemise. Knowing that the meager light concealed very little. The wolf leapt forward and snatched at my shoulder. Teeth skimming enough to leave deep scratches along my shoulder and ripping open a scab along the side of my neck. Shredding one shoulder of my chemise. I turned onto my side and put two feet in its chest to throw it back. Fumbling on my nightstand for a weapon. The wolf lunged forward and caught the hem of my chemise near my thighs. Dragging it out and pulling me flailing from the bedstand. As it yanked me flat over the floor. I bit back a scream, worried about alerting the King’s Guard too early.
