Awaited Mate

6. AIDEN'S POV

Here we are in another country after a long flight. I must say everything feels different. I don't know if it's because it's my first time being here or something else.

My wolf Keaton is surprisingly happy with the city. He usually hates travelling, especially if I'm visiting a place where shifting without risk of people finding out that I'm not entirely human is nearly impossible. We decided to start in Los Angeles.

From there we will go to San Diego and then lastly San Francisco. A day in each of them. I don't know if I'll be able to enjoy this trip because Keaton will not stop jumping around.

I've tried blocking him but all my efforts are in vain. He's an annoying bastard sometimes. We're supposed to be a team and still, he's making sure that my life is a stressful one.

He's usually quiet, an odd thing for an alpha but I'm used to it now. He only shows up when I'm angry, too happy, or when he doesn't like something, like when he hates someone around me or senses something wrong with them.

Most of all he likes to make his presence known when in the presence of other alphas, he hates to be looked upon.

There's one thing that we both love, shifting. He doesn't have to take full control over me to do what he wants because I give him access all the time. The hotel we booked for the night is near a forest so I think I'll shift tonight just to ease the tension.

I don't know what he wants and he won't say anything. As soon as we arrived at the hotel we were given access cards to our rooms and we went for breakfast in a nearby restaurant. We ordered pancakes, sausages, eggs, bacon, and coffee.

It was actually delicious, not that I didn't it to be but I guess I'm just looking for a reason not to be happy with this place which is odd because I personally wanted to be here.

San Diego and San Francisco were Amar's choices. He said that he was told that if you ever visit California then San Francisco and San Diego are a must.

I'm actually waiting to be amazed. After breakfast we visited a lot of places, we even went to the Hollywood landmark, amusement parks, and museum. We had a lot of fun.

After that, we went to a bar near the hotel. Girls were trying to flirt with me but I didn't entertain them.

As for my best friend, I think he was happy having them all around him. I bet he's even smelling like them. When I told him it was time to leave he dismissed me so I decided to leave him and go back to the hotel.

Once I was in my room I took a shower and got ready for bed. I waited a bit thinking I'll hear Amar come back but I found myself drifting off to sleep.

I heard a knock on my door, which is what woke me up. I guess Amar is back finally. I went to open the door but I caught a scent of a she-wolf instead. She knocked again so I decided to open it.

"How can I help you?"

She just smiled at me like we are lifelong friends, "Well, you're grumpy. Did you wake up from the wrong side of the bed?"

"Look here lady, I'm not in the mood of exchanging small talks wi... You're an Alpha?" I asked her as soon as I caught her scent again.

"Welcome to my territory. Finally, you realized who I am. That's very nice of you. You're also an Alpha. Not fully but I can feel your wolf. Though I don't understand why he feels threatened by my wolf. This is my territory. I should be the one threatened by an uninvited Alpha."

"Sorry about that. He's always wary of Alphas around him. I guess he notices your power."

"That's okay. I was told of an Alpha and his Beta in my land so I decided to come and see for myself. My wolves were threatened by your presence. I have to assure them that you bring no threat to their pack. Do you pose any threat to me or my pack? I would hate having to kill you, you're too beautiful to die young."

"You don't have to worry about that. I'm not going to cause any harm to you or your pack. Though I doubt you can kill me. I'm just passing by with my best friend. He's also my beta.

"It's his birthday tomorrow so we're on a trip. We will be leaving your territory after having breakfast. I'm sorry for barging into your territory without your permission. I had no idea there was a pack situated here."

"I can tell you're not from around here by your accent. Where are you from?"

"London. I'm half Irish and half Italian. Though I want to believe my Irish side to be more dominant."

She laughed. "I guess you're right. But your accent is not Irish or Italian, so I'm guessing you spent most of your life in London"

"You're right. I was born in London though. I also live there."

"That's okay. Since I am sure that you're not posing any threat to my pack I'll leave. Your Beta will be let free. Before you panic, he's not held, prisoner.

"I just asked my beta to occupy him while I come here and talk to you and ask why you're here. She's pretty good at that department. I'm afraid your Beta will not be willing to come any time soon. Have a nice day and enjoy your trip"

"Thank you so much. I didn't get your name though. I'm Aiden Black."

"Amanda Barton. Nice to meet you." She extended her right hand. I shook it and she left.

I waited for more than two hours for Amar.

"You know I'm beginning to think that I made a mistake by being your friend. You've been out there enjoying your life while I was here worried about you." I said as soon as I heard him open the door.

I wasn't expecting what I saw in front of me though. He was not alone. He was with a girl around 5"2 with bright green eyes like my sisters' and long black hair. 

That's not all, Amar was holding a pink suitcase and he was smiling like an i***t but he was nervous at the same time. I could sense it from the door.

"Okay... What's going on? And who's she?"

"Good morning Alpha. My name is Crystal Michaelson. I'm the Beta of Blood Moon pack. My Alpha is Amanda Barton. Amar is my mate." She said confidently. 

"She is telling the truth. We are second chance mates. Her mate rejected her too. I asked her to come with me back home and she agreed." I could tell he was happy from his tone. I'm also happy for him. This is a double celebration.

"Congratulations to you both," I said as I hugged them both. I could tell Crystal was surprised by the gesture but I couldn't stop myself.
