Yohan's POVI was touching my "wedding ring" on my ring finger, as I think of the beautiful face with hazel brown upturned eyes, plump lips, and pointy nose with her long red wavy hair. A wide and sweet smile showed my face without me knowing it.
A knock at the glass frosted door pulled me back to reality. My smile disappeared as I turned to look at the opening door. There came Dale, my best buddy since birth and co-worker as well. Behind him is an unfamiliar woman but looks really familiar.
"Why are you smiling like that? It's creepy, man." said Dale, scrunching his nose.
"Bastard! What are you doing here?" I asked looking at him then to this unfamiliar woman behind him, yet I feel like she's familiar.
"Language, please! Anyway, this is Ada Marie Wynowitz. Our new -'' I jolted while he's introducing her to me. I was not able to hear his last words and I do not know why but I keep on staring at her.
Dale continued with "Hey dude! You're scaring your new Producer. Quit it!" while blocking me in a brotherly action as if he's trying to hide her from me, or more like trying to protect her from me.
I snapped back and apologized immediately. "Oh no, I'm sorry. Did I scare you?" she said "No.." with a very confused facial expression. "Ava right?" I continue, stretching out my arms for a handshake.
"Close. Ada." she answered while accepting my handshake with a broad yet charming smile.
"Right, sorry, Ada." I embarrassingly nodded my head and continued, "I'm sorry but have we met? I'm pretty sure we've met before."
Dale cut in and chuckled, "Hey, you are such a fox!" I let go of her hand and said, "No, I'm serious. I think I have met you somewhere." in a curious and insisting tone.
"Maybe. She works in the Live TV Production department. She's just here because we needed a temporary Segment Producer." said Dale.
"Oh, so you work here as well? Why moving here in the Taped TV Production department? The pay is much higher in the Live department, right?" I asked, still looking in her eyes.
"Well yes. They pay much higher, but I have personal matters to attend to, and I still need money for my expenses." Ada replied.
"Personal matters, eh? Are you getting married?" but before Ada could answer my question, Dale chipped in with a chuckle, "No, but her sister." while tapping his pointer finger on my table while half seated on it. I knew exactly what he meant by doing that.
I gave Dale a glance before looking at Ada and said, "Of course. By the way, I will ask one of our Program Researchers to help you familiarize yourself with our shows." Then I walked towards the door and called the Researcher.
"Alright, thank you." Ada said smiling but confusion is still evident on her face.
She exits the office and after closing the door, I let a big sigh of relief out of my body. I turn around to look at Dale with embarrassment on my face.
"Man, what the heck was that?" he asked while pointing his right thumb at the door. I know exactly what he was talking about. I glared at him and asked excitedly with a confused tone.
"Doesn't she look familiar to you? She's really familiar, man. I just can't figure it out, but it seems like I have met her."
"I don't know, man. Or maybe, you have seen her, because she works here like you. And what the hell is that?" while pointing at the ring on my ring finger.
I shrugged my shoulders and said, "I remember you told me that we are hiring a temporary producer from another department, so I decided to put it on.
"Why?"
"So, they will never make a move on me." Then I sat on my chair and winked at him.
"Yeah right! What an ass! Anyway, I'm heading out to check the setup on studio 4."
"Shoot! I totally forgot about our sitcom shoot. I'm going with you." I said while grabbing the script folder on my table.
He patted my back and said in a teasing tone "Are you serious? You're too occupied with your "Ada thoughts." showing the quote signs with his fingers while laughing.
