Meeting mate

1061 Words
As soon as one of my feet touched the boarder of the forest, my slow walk turned into a sprint. I sprinted, dodging trees and jumping over bushes as I started to strip ready to place my clothes in a designated spot I chose. As soon as I was completely naked and all of my clothes were carefully hidden under my favourite tree, I let my wolf take control. My hands soon turned to paws and my freshly shaved legs turned furry. My once human body turned to a wolf. And that’s where my run officially began. Azalea, my wolf, loved when I let her take control and run as far and as fast as she wanted. She’s barely ever in control so when she is, she makes the most of it by doing what she loves. Running. On our usual run I let Azalea run to the end of the forest and back to my clothes, but this run was different. Her paws crunching leaves and snapping twigs as she ran at top speed was such a satisfying sound. Although, running through the woods does make her snow white fur rather dirty. But a little dirt doesn’t hurt anyone. Azalea nearly got to the end of the woods as a smell hit us. Not just any smell, an intoxicating smell. A smell neither of us could get enough of. The smell of our mate. She stopped dead on, frantically trying to figure out where the smell was coming from until she saw a figure in the next packs territory. That’s where I decided it was a bad idea letting Azalea handle this situation, so I forced us to turn back. She wasn’t happy about it to say the least. Azalea: Sasha what are you doing? I found mate! Sasha: I know, that’s why I forced us to switch because he’s not in our territory and us going over there could and would cause problems. Azalea: But I want mate! As Azalea spoke those words in my head, the figure once calm and silently sitting, gazing at the stars had now jumped to his feet and desperately started looking around trying to find something. And that something was us. Luckily we weren’t out in the open, we were behind a tall bush with small openings in it so we could see him, but he couldn’t see us. Sasha: Oh shut up will you! He’s obviously caught on to our scent now. Azalea: Good! Maybe he’ll come to our territory to find us! Sasha: Yeah, if he has a death wish! Out of everyone I could’ve been mated to, I was mated with one of our rivals! Azalea: Hey, and me! Sasha: We’ll obviously, for f**k sake! I could tell he was slowly catching on to where we were so I decided, even though it pained me to do it, I sprinted back as fast as I could. Barely dodging every tree and barely getting over the bushes. Luckily, he didn’t follow us too far as he could tell he was not only in his rivals territory, but getting closer and closer to their house. A growl echoed through the forest before he quickly retreated. Although he didn’t transform into his wolf, probably because wolves are extremely impulsive and wouldn’t have stopped no matter how far they were into their rivals territory, he was extremely fast. If we weren’t so close to my house he would’ve definitely caught us. S**t, I forgot my clothes! Not only had I been running away from my mate from a rival pack, but I had also been running from him naked! This couldn’t get any worse. A pain lingered in my chest begging me to go after him, but I couldn’t. No matter the pain I had to be smart. He was our rival, his pack has killed many of ours and vice verser. This, we, couldn’t happen. Tomorrow night I would go back and hope he was there, and then I would reject him and ask him to except my rejection. Now to hope he goes back. Azalea: I want mate! Sasha: Shut up Azalea, I don’t want to hear it. I snapped in an angered tone. And she did shut up, she let out a quiet whimper first but she never said another word. She was starting to give me a headache. I don’t like being horrible to Azalea but sometimes she gets on my last nerve. She pushes her luck, tests me. I don’t like it and she knows it. What I do understand though is the ache to be near him, to touch him. I caught myself looking at the forest a few times, hoping to see his figure appear through the trees. But he never did, and even though I hoped he would I knew better. So I pulled myself together and got on with my life in the meantime. I slowly crept up the creaky wooden stairs trying to be as quiet as possible. It didn’t work obviously because of the loud creaks but nobody came out of their bedrooms luckily, I was still naked as I didn’t want to risk going back and seeing him again. My pack are all used to me coming home late after a run. Although I did expect my mother to open her bedroom door and ask why I was back earlier than usual, but she never did. And I was glad, I hadn’t come up with a story yet. And, I was still naked. I slowly pulled open my bedroom door and slid inside. I walked over to my king sized bed and put on a folded pair of pjs. I glanced back at the forest one more time through my wide bedroom window before tucking myself in bed. The quicker I reject him and the quicker he accepts my rejection, the quicker the pain in my chest will go and the quicker Azalea will stop going on about him. As soon as I knew it, it was morning.
