Chapter 23
Leo’s pov
We got to the house we were supposed to be living in. It was a small town. That worried me because it is easier to blend into a bigger town. Any cop knew that. I took a look around finding the exits in case we were found. There was a safe room hidden in the basement.
This house looked pretty secure and safe. I let Athena come in and get settled in. She looked so scared. I don’t know how she is still holding it together. She has had to deal with so much loss. Seeing your brother that you raised murdered in front of you is something you can’t forget.
I needed to protect her. I felt this overwhelming need to keep her safe. I have never felt this connection with anyone before. I wish I would have met her under different circumstances. I wish I could have a chance with
