By the time Eva’s topcomm call came through from the pirate base, the attempted coup and assassination were all over but the final shouting. Her story of the people impersonating the dvoryane from the Querida came too late to serve as a warning, but it did explain the sudden burst of terrorist fire from a supposedly safe and friendly audience. Eva closed by saying that she, Pias and Avram were speeding back to Earth to give a personal report. Traveling at top speed, they expected to arrive in a couple of days.
