CHAPTER 9 “YOU DON’T NEED TO KEEP telling me you’re sorry.” Reuben leaned against the doorway of Kennedy’s dorm room. “Did you know you apologized five times in the taxi?” Kennedy still wished Reuben had let her pay the fare. She was thrilled to be as far away from the subway system as possible, but it wasn’t as if Reuben had a whole lot of discretionary income.
