Three Weeks Later…..
Hope’s P.O.V
I didn't know where I was when I opened my eyes, nothing looked familiar to me, but there were loud strange beeping noises. I finally managed to lift my head off the pillow slightly and look around, but I saw that there were machines and IV’s hooked up to me. Where am I? I thought to myself, but then I could hear talking in the next room. This was my chance to get out of here, there was no way that whoever was in that room was going to take me back to my old pack. I would rather die than go back there. I jerked the IV’s out of my arm, ripped the tape off to the heart machine that was hooked up to me and I tried to stand up. All the machines started going crazy when I took them off me and I was panicking that someone would come in here to see what was going on, but when I tried to run my legs wouldn't work and just gave out on me, making me fall flat on my face. How long was I out for? I tried to get up, but all I managed to do was crawl and at least I made it all the way to the door, but my body gave out again. I felt so weak, my whole body ached and I felt nothing but scared and alone. I was able to grip onto the door handle, twist it and open the door. I poked my head out, looked around and thankfully there was no one else around. I grabbed onto the wall and struggled to the end of the hall without being seen by anyone, it was like I was the only one here and I was so, so thankful for that. I saw the sign for the exit and followed it all the way to two sets of double doors. I crawled through the first set of double doors and then I used the next set of doors to climb to my feet and got my legs working a little bit, but when I opened the door I fell forward right smack into someone. I screamed and pushed away, causing me to fall back and land on my butt. The light from outside blinded me for a few seconds and then I heard a woman’s voice.
“Hold on sweetie. I’m Shelly, you're okay, I promise. No one is going to hurt you, you're safe now.” The woman called Shelly said and I looked up at the she-cat scared to death. She had shoulder length blond hair with hazel eyes, she was about 5.3 and she had the sweetest smile, but she also had a worried look on her face. Why was she worried? Was it for me? No, I highly doubt it, no one was ever worried about me. Who the hell would give a damn about someone like me? I wanted to turn heel and run for my life, but my own body was betraying me. I was still way too weak to do a thing, but I managed to turn my head when I heard the doors behind me open and then I saw a tall gorgeous man come into the small hallway where I was. As soon as he saw me he ran right to me. Why was he doing that? Was he going to hurt me? Was he angry that I had tried to leave? Was he angry that I was here in the first place?
“What are you doing? You just woke up and you're already trying to run away? You're safe here, I promise, no one is chasing you, no one will harm you. Can you tell me your name?” The man said and all I could do was shakily nod my head. I was too scared to say anything in case I said the wrong thing. I didn't know where I was, I didn't know who he was or the other werecats that were around me and all I wanted to do was scream, cry and crawl into the darkest place where no one could find me. The man bent down and picked me up in his arms, making my eyes go wide with fear.
“Don't fear me, little one. I won't hurt you, I promise.” The man said and took me back into the building. He walked with me in his arms straight to the room I was in and set me down on the bed. I sat there for what seemed like forever until I felt that I was safe and then I started to relax a little. I was still looking for a way to get out and I was still on my guard, I didn't trust them, but then the tall man leaned down in front of me. I closed my legs tightly and scooted up the bed away from him. I was trembling in fear and I didn't know what he was going to do to me. He saw that I was scared and immediately backed away from me, sitting in the chair next to the bed I was in.
“My name is Alpha Black, you are in the Midnight Moon Pack. We found you in our territory and we brought you here. This is Shelly, she is my sister and she brought you here. Can you tell me your name?” The man I now know as Alpha Black asked and that just made me scared. He was an Alpha, does that mean he will send me back to my pack? Will he inform them that I am here?
“It's okay, don't worry. No one is going to hurt you. You have my word.” Alpha Black said, trying to reassure me. I slowly nodded, believing him and found my voice.
“My….my name is Hope. I….I….” I said, but my voice felt really dry. Shelly quickly grabbed me a glass of water and handed it to me. I was unsure at first, but then Shell smiled at me and I started to drink it. When I was finished I held the glass on my lap, focusing on that and only that.
“I ran from my pack because they were abusive to me. My Alpha, my ex Alpha tried…..” I said, but I couldn't say the words and tears started to come down my face. Shelly walked up to me and slowly moved her hand to mine, taking the glass from me and holding my hand in hers. She sat next to me on the bed and rubbed my back, calming me down.
“It's okay, sweetie. We already know what happened in that respect. We know that someone tried to force himself on you and we know that he almost took your innocence. The doctor examined you when I brought you in because you were bleeding and he said that you had a couple of rips, but you're okay, he didn't manage to fully penetrate you. You will heal it will just take time. Who was your Alpha and what pack did you come from?” Shelly asked and I was grateful that my innocence was still intact. I was scared to say Alpha Cole’s name and the pack I came from because I didn't know what he would do. Would Alpha Black take me back there? No, I couldn't let that happen, I needed to escape this place tonight. I’ll run, I’ll run tonight and get as far away from here and my old pack as possible. I would go where no one would know me, I’ll even leave the country if I have to.
“There's no need to run, Hope. He won't hurt you, he's trying to help you.” A voice suddenly said and I looked around to see where it was coming from, but there was no one other than us three here. Was I going crazy? Was the voice right? Could I really trust him? It was worth a shot, I could tell him and then escape tonight if he betrayed me.
“His name is Alpha Cole and the pack's name is The Hollow Moon Pack.” I replied and they both nodded.
“Why did they do this to you? Why were they chasing you?” Alpha Black asked and I sighed because that was a much longer story.
“When I was fifteen I was supposed to shift for the first time, but I couldn't. Everyone was really nice about it for the first year, but then the second year came and I still couldn't shift. For three years I tried to shift, but nothing ever happened. My friends turned against me, my parents disowned me and my life was made a living hell. I was beaten, spat on, kicked and thrown in the attic which became my bedroom. I was made to get up at five in the morning every morning to cook breakfast and then clean the whole pack house. After I did all of that I didn't get time to rest because I then had to cook dinner. My night didn't end until everything was cleaned and put away. I did this for five and a half years, until Alpha Cole tried to have his way with me. I tried to stop him, but I was weak because I had been beaten earlier that day and without a cat I couldn't heal as fast. In the end the only thing I could do was hit him over the head with a glass bottle, knocking him out and jumping out of a three story window. I ran for my life all the way into the woods and out of the territory, but I couldn't go any further and my body gave out, leaving me on the ground where you found me.” I said, letting the pain and fear I felt rise to the surface and take over me. My eyes were blurry with tears and I felt so alone.
