** STEPHANIE’S POV **
Owen was at the same party that I had been to last so he offered a lift to school for me which I gladly accepted. Since I had a change of clothes with me I changed into them as I got ready “You know Ryder is not a fool not see what you are doing! You better stop before things blow out!” I heard Owen as I walked down the stairs.
“He is not as smart as you give him credit for. If he was he would have blown the roof off by now! The only way he would get to know is if either you or I tell him” I whipped my hair over my shoulder as I walked past him “why are we going to school o early?”
Owen took a bite of his sandwich and with stuffed cheeks “Michael and Liam here are having some problem they called for the meeting, I told Ryder about it and he is coming in early as well.”
I rolled my eyes at him “Common let’s not keep the heir of Jenkins empire waiting!”
Ryder was leaning on the hood of his car while there was someone scrawny who was sitting on a Harley ‘It looks like the person is a girl but why would a girl of her figure ride a bike that’s probably 10 times her weight? She must be really desperate to look like a bad girl!’
The i***t Owen left the steering wheel as he waved at Ryder “Owen you moron! You are gonna hit the bike.” Luckily I had my seat belt on when Owen hit the bike in the empty parking lot. When I looked up I saw Ryder on top of that scrawny girl there was something different in the way he was looking at her it was not the way he looks at me there was a kind of tenderness in his gaze.
Oh so it’s that Collins ‘I have nothing to worry about, Ry will not leave me! He likes girls that are more… fuller. Plus she has no manners and she even dresses like a guy!’ I got out of the car and walked to Ry and was about to kiss him when I heard someone yelling. I turned back and saw Owen and Collins fighting one another. Ry pulled her off of Owen while Liam and Michael held back Owen.
‘Well well well seems like someone’s caught Ryder’s interest although she doesn’t seem like someone who will give him the time of the day!’
** RYDER’S POV **
Just expected she kicked him pretty bad and ended up having a few cuts of her own. I gestured for my friends to take Owen to the school ground Stephanie scoffed and followed them ‘What’s the attitude for?’
Once they were out of sight “Are you gonna stop flapping your hands and legs now!”
She squinted her eyes turning her head to face me and hissed out “LET ME GO JENKINS! I am gonna make you feel sorry if you don’t let me go NOW!” She was now glaring at me with her cute little eyes “You know you have really cute eyes!”
“RYDER! I swear to god I am gonna kick the hell out of you” she yelled in a warning tone glaring and gritting her teeth.
“Fine I will let you go but you gonna have to let me take care of that damage and you’re gonna have to promise to behave yourself. Will you?” I c****d my head wiggling my brows. She sighed “FINE! Now let me go.”
I let go of her as slowly as I could just to make sure that she doesn’t try to hit me or hurt me in some way “Come with me” I took her to my car and made her sit in the passenger seat with her feet resting on the floor outside the car. I got the first aid kit that my dad made sure I always had on me from the glove box.
I knelt down between her legs cleaning her cuts on her forehead I bandaged it. I was wiping the blood off her lips with the cotton as I cleaned the cut she had on her lower lip “You know…” she cut me off “Don’t!”
“I didn’t say anything yet!” I shrugged my shoulders and continued to clean her lip. I stopped as my finger brushed against her soft pink lips “I… it’s all done!” I got up.
“Thank you!” she said as she got up and walked to her bike straightening it “Good that he hasn’t done much damage to the bike.”
‘How can she be thinking about the bike when she is the one who is hurt?’ I shook my head “See you in class” I walked away seeing her friend’s car coming.
Owen was pacing around on the school ground clutching at his hair “That little b***h… How could she… urghhh…!” He walked closer to me pointing his finger at me “and you… how could you take her side when clearly she was the one that started it!”
“Owen you rammed straight into her bike in an empty parking lot dude. She has every right to be angry with you and even landed some pretty nasty punches on her dude. That was a d**k move and you know it!” it was now my turn to point my finger at him.
“Break it up… both of you! God, I can’t believe you are fighting over someone like her” Stephanie stood between the both of us holding us apart with her arms.
“Steph what are you talking, it was Owen who drove on to her bike and you are taking his side? I can’t believe you!” I shoved her hand away and turned my back on my so-called friends.
“Yeah that’s right, walk away Ry! At least that’s something you are good at” Owen yelled to my back “You did not just say that” I walked towards him with rushed steps and caught him by his collar “Say it to my face what you just said! I f*****g dare you” Owen sneered “you heard me the first time dude don’t pretend like you didn’t!”
I let go of his collar and showing off my middle finger to him I sneered “go back to the hole you crawled out of!”
“Let him go, Owen!” I heard Stephanie’s voice as I walked away.
My traitor friends avoided me during classes till Stephanie dragged me to our table during lunch break “Common guys kiss and makeup already!”
“Sorry man I should not have said what I said!” Owen scratched the back of his neck as he apologized and finished it with a bro hug. Steph sat on my lap “so…. Liam here is going for a race tonight and wants us to be there to cheer him on! I know you don’t come out much during the night but why don’t you make an exception for tonight please Ry…!” as if Steph was not enough my idiotic friends ganged up to persuade me and trust me saying not to them now will only make it worst “Fine! Fine guys, I will come ok! Now calm down.”
** ZOEY’S POV **
‘I am gonna kill Zane and Leah, they asked me to come early and they are not here yet!’ I was pulled out of my thoughts when I felt Ryder’s fingertips graze on my lips. I felt my heart jump at his touch ‘what the hell!’ I scooted back a little and it seems like he came back to his senses as he got up and walked away just as my stupid friends came to school.
“Woah… What was Ryder Jenkins doing with you? Were you 2 hooking up?” this i***t “Shut Zane there is nothing like that” I turned to face him “Oh god what happened? Why is your face all beat up? Did that Jenkins do this to you?” Zane cupped my cheeks and started to inspect my face “No, it was that stupid Owen he managed to drive right on to my bike in this empty lot. Jenkins helped in patching up and it’s no thanks to you both!” I folded my hands over my chest glaring at these 2 friends of mine.
Leah hugged me “Sorry babe!” Zane joined in the hug “Yeah sorry babe!”
“Ok ok loosen up I can’t breathe” I croaked out trying to get them to let go of me and they did.
Zane poked on my forehead “So are you going tonight BLACK CAT?”
“Yes I am, and it’s not BLACK CAT it’s BLACK PHANTOM!” I raised my chin proud of my track name “anyway what was so important that you guys asked me to come so soon?”
Zane scratched the back of his neck “Aaahh… It… it’s about that competition that I am participating in today. I need your help Z please… please help me!”
“Fine let me hear it!” we walked to the school auditorium. Zane took out his guitar and started playing it tuning it to suit his song but something seemed a bit offbeat “There is something a little offbeat why don’t you play again!” and that’s how our day started
