A day like any other rolls by and ends on a chime of the grand clock in the fire station. Vittorio nudges Evan to wake up. The poor guy has a baby son and can’t get much sleep at home, so he uses any and every opportunity he can get to take a nap. Vittorio remembers how it was for all of them with his baby brother Marco, the kid just wouldn’t sleep, so he is sympathetic towards Evan and he lets him sleep half a shift, if nothing comes along for them to rush out. They part ways at the carpark as Evan climbs in his beat up old Fiat Panda and drives off and Vittorio takes a shortcut over Sempione park to get to his cousin Kara.
