With my life, I was prepared to protect my pups. I watched as half a dozen wolves were stalking out of the woods. I pushed Liam and Layla behind me and I took a defensive stance.
“Amber, I need you! Amber!” I pleaded to my wolf, who had been absent for some time now. Although I sensed her presence, she remained silent towards me. I shook my head.
I was on my own again.
