Sirens of the Abyss

Chapter 4

-Ellie's POV-

"Wake up....wake up my little guppy." Someone was calling my name. I slowly opened my eyes as if I had been asleep for ages. Reality hit me once I saw my aunt's face In front of mine. I was still underwater. "Auntie?" I tried to talk but no words came out. They were in my head. My Aunt touched my shoulder gently. " Your form is so beautiful El. Poseidon has blessed you tremendously." Again the words only were only in my head. Telepathy? Is that how we communicated underwater? I looked at my aunt and realized what she had said. I almost forgot about my new body. " Have look at your new form love." She smiled not showing her teeth, but those eyes. They were black slits but her eyes were still brown. The pupil seemed to be the thing that changed. She twirled me around. I looked at my tail. White, pearly white I'd say. I touched my back with my hands. Sharp Spikes that I could only assume we're white as well. My hands looked like they'd melted together. Webbed hands. My form was... beautiful. I smiled at my aunt. " Do you feel the hunger yet?" I glanced up at her question and shook my head no. What hunger? I thought the goblet ceased are hunger for blood or particularly men. "Am I suppose to feel it?" I questioned. She c****d her head to the side and smiled.  "Yes, but some feel it faster then others."I looked at her and nodded in understanding. "I guess I was a late bloomer" I thought to myself and giggled. 

The water wasn't very clear but I could see. Deep blue with shadows of different  shades blue coming from everywhere like a never ending light show. It was beautiful...breath taking. I suddenly got the urge to just take off, and I did. I pumped my tail onward and just swam not knowing were I was going just feeling...free. We were no longer children. We were women. This freedom aloud us to find mates and be on our own even if we are in a pod. To some extent we had freedom.

 I closed my eyes feeling the water rush all over my body. This feeling of open ocean. I could go anywhere. See anything I wanted to. I peeked back over my shoulder to see if my aunt had followed me but she did not. She didn't have to. I was my own boss In this new otherworldly place. I smiled enjoying every second of it. I wonder if I could find Faleen. We were in the same spot when we drowned but she might of gotten swept away in a current. No matter, I'll find her and we can enjoy this freedom together.

-Faleen POV-

"Hey Calvin! Don't drown buddy!" The man on the shore laughed. The blonde man was swimming farther out now as the ball drifted further out. He was closer to me now. I dove underneath him. This feeling I had felt primal, pure and wild. I was hunting prey. I saw his silhouette above me now. I followed him further out until he got the ball. He couldn't escape me now. I lunged upwards and drove my sharp nails around his abdomen. He screamed. I pulled him under. He tried to fight me. Hitting me with his hands and feet. I grew tired of him struggling. I bite into his neck severing his artery and after he went still I dove deeper to finish him. 

-Ellie's  POV-

I wonder where Faleen had swam off to. I was right back at the spot we last were together. I looked around hoping to see a glimpse of a tail but there was nothing but open water.  I decided to go the opposite direction of where I came from. "Maybe she got out of the water" I thought to myself but instantly changed my mind when I smelled blood in the water. I instinctively swam towards the smell. It grew stronger the closer I got until I swam into a cloud of red and slammed  into what I could only think was Faleen. 

" Faleen?" I reached out to touch her but what I touched felt... muscular? I let go of what I assumed was the remnants of prey. "He squirmed too much..." a voice echoed behind me. I spun around quickly to find Faleen. 

Her tail was green... emerald green and her spikes were black...oh she was gorgeous! Faleen looked down and held her shoulder. " I'm sorry I didn't look for you...I got preoccupied." I looked back at the bloody red cloud in the water. I smiled at her. " It's okay, I found you." I smiled at her and pulled her into an embrace. " Let's go up on land now. I'm sure everyone is waiting for us." I pulled her along with me and made our way up to the surface together. 

Faleen-POV

We reached the shore clawing our way up the sandy bank. Our forms had not changed back yet. We left half of our bodies still in the water so we could breath. I looked at Ellie half out of breath. I was so happy to see her freckled heart shaped face again. I took her hand I mine. "I can't wait to go to bed...I'm so freaking tired." Ellie nodded her head in agreement and we both started to laugh together. This whole ordeal was crap, but we made it. We were exhausted. "A nice bath would be nice too," Ellie added and giggled. I really don't know how well I would of done with this without her. I felt warmth in my heart looking at her. 

We stayed their for a while just laying their in the sand until we heard footsteps not to far from here. I lifted my head to take a glimpse at where the footstep were coming from. Cleo and Leanna  were running to us, dressed in their white robes and had what I could only guess was a change of clothes for us. Ellie lifted her head. "Ellie Hun, are you alright!?" Leanna got to her knees and held Ellie's face in her hands. " Yes, auntie I'm fine. I just haven't changed back yet." Leanna pulled a vile from her robe pocket "Don't worry, it just temporary," Leanna looked at us both. The vile was neon blue and it was glowing. Cleo pulled the same thing out of her robe as well. She got on her knees in front of me. I looked up at her and she was gleaming at me..oh lord...here we go. " I knew you would turn out beautifully Fal. Mother is going to be so proud of you!" She took my hand in hers and kissed it. I faked a smiled. She opened the vile "Here now, open and drink the whole thing." I looked at her "Please tell me this isn't gonna taste nasty...," I made a disgusted look. Cleo stared at me for a moment and  laughed. Did I actually see her laugh? Holy s**t. Hell must of froze over. I chuckled at the thought. It was actually nice to her smile for once though. I opened my mouth and chugged the vile. It tasted like honey. 

 "You will changed back in just a moment," she put the empty vile back in her pocket.  "And now we wait," she sat next to me in the sand. " Does changing back for the first time hurt too?" Ellie questioned. " Yes, everything you go through for the first time will hurt, but we're right here." Cleo rested her hands on Ellie's cheek. "Great.." I thought to myself. I turned my head away from Cleo and the others. This somehow felt surreal. Wasn't I just killing a man? My body seemed like it had a mind of it's own..but it didn't help me feel any less guilty. 

My stomach felt nauseated and I felt repulsed at what I had done. "Faleen? What's wrong?" Cleo asked. I turned my head to face her. "I...I killed him...I killed him Cleo." Tears streamed down my cheeks and I started to cry. Cleo stared at me with a blank expression. She closed her eyes and sighed an then slapped me. Her reaction took me by surprise and I started to laugh. Like a crazy person. Cleo stared at me " Get your s**t together Faleen. We are Sirens. We kill end of story. Now stop your pathetic child nonsense and grow up!" She stood up looking down at me. I glared at her. "f**k you, you heartless b***h!," I screamed. I was done with her crap and I let her have it.  "You drowned me! Your own sister! And felt nothing. Unlike you I have a heart and I never wanted this. Screw this family and Screw you!" My face felt heated and my pulse quickened. 

Cleo glared at me and replied "You were not even suppose to be born Faleen. You were a mistake. Be happy for the life you were given by chance and stop being a selfish brat." I winced a her remark. I already knew I wasn't planned. I was the "miracle child" mother used to say but selfish? I was far from it. "Get the hell away from me...now," I hissed at Cleo. "I don't need you. I can do this on my own." I turned from her hoping she would just leave me alone but of course she always had to have the last word. "Mother won't be happy about your little fit Fal, but I'll be sure to tell her your fine," She sneered and walked away from me. I was livid at her. When I get my legs back I'm making sure I run far away from here. Renya was right to run from all this. I wish she took me with her.

 " ...Faleen?" My heart dropped to my stomach. I had totally forgotten who was beside me. I turned to see Ellie's face shocked at my outburst. Leanna stood beside her and stood up focused on me. I felt like a huge mental case. I was embarrassed.

 Leanna leaned down to me and I readied myself for another slap but it never came. I glanced at Leanna and she was kneeling in front of me. Her oval shaped face and soft brown eyes made her look elegant. She looked so peaceful. " Leanna I..," but before I could say anything she raised her hand to stop me. "Cleo can be harsh but it's the only way she knows to get through to people. However it was no reason for her to act in such a way but she was right about one thing Faleen." She paused  "You need to realize that this is who you are now and make peace with it." I chuckled at her remark. "Was that what that slap was suppose to tell me?" I argued.

 Leanna shook her head. "Stupid girl, Sarcasm will get you nowhere. You have things to look forward to in this new life of yours. Rejoice in it. Find a mate start a family. Find your place In this new life Poseidon has bestowed on you. Live." Leanna turned to Ellie and added "That info was for you too my guppy," Ellie managed a smile but something stirred underneath. "Now the potion should be kicking in any moment now. I have other duties to attend to so when you've changed back come back inside." Leanna walked towards the house. Leaving Ellie and I alone.
