When Emily opened her eyes it was already dawn. She found herself on the bed but she didn’t see Austin Gray there. She recalled they had s*x on the sofa and after that, she didn’t remember how she came to the bed. Might be he took her to the bed when she was senseless. She thought and couldn’t help but shiver. Now she didn’t want to give a second chance to this relationship. She must try to persuade him to divorce. But asking for divorce might only increase his anger, so she decided to talk to her father-in-law. If she could convince him to change the will then only Austin Gray would give her divorce without hesitation. She didn’t want a dime from his property. She only wanted her freedom. But she needed a phone to talk to her father-in-law. After thinking for sometimes she planned to steal Austin Gray’s phone when he was asleep.

She went to the bathroom to freshen up. After changing her clothes when she came out of the room she didn’t find Austin Gray in the hall also. She had no idea when he went away from there. Every day when she woke up she didn’t find him. She sighed and started cleaning and dusting.

After her works, she cooked for herself and ate. Very soon the day ended and darkness covered the sky. She waited eagerly for Austin Gray sitting on the couch in the main hall, but after waiting for a long time also he didn’t come back. She was feeling sleepy and fell asleep on the couch.

The next day morning when she woke up she found herself on the couch. ‘Oh, last night I slept here. Where is Austin?’ She thought and rushed to her room. But there was no one. When she saw the neat bedspread she realized that no one slept there. He didn’t come back last night.

She then started her daily routine. That night also she waited for him but he didn’t come back.

Ten days passed like this. Every day she waited for him hoping that he might come back and she would have a chance to steal his phone but he didn’t come back. As usual, she busied herself in household works from the morning. When she finished cleaning she sat down at the dining table and started eating the egg scrambled she prepared. After finished eating, she went to the kitchen to wash the dishes.

Just then she heard the main door open. She turned around and looked at the door. Austin Gray’s tall lean figure came inside walking elegantly as an emperor. He was wearing a grey suit. There was a sweet smile on his face which made him look extremely handsome. Emily skipped a beat. After so many days when she saw his smiling face, she felt warm in her heart. She smiled and walked to him, but her steps froze and the smile disappeared when she saw Sheena Jones coming inside behind him. She felt tightness in her heart as if someone had grabbed her heart tightly.

‘Emily focus, don’t feel bad, focus, focus…’ she was reminding herself again and again in her mind. She had nothing to do with him now so why should she feel bad. She took a deep breath and walked to them. She opened her mouth and greeted them calmly “Good morning president Gray, good morning Miss Jones.”

Austin Gray’s expression froze and looked at her coldly. Sheena Jones came closer to her, held her hand, and said “Good morning Emily, and don’t call me Miss Jones. Call me Sheena. You used to call me by my name.”

Her voice was very soft and her face was charming and beautiful. Anyone would fall in love with her sweet and cheerful appearance. Emily’s heart softened. It was not her fault. Sheena didn’t know earlier that she was Austin Gray’s wife. Now that things turned out like that she must back off to give them happiness and to get her freedom. She couldn’t entangle with him anymore. She decided to talk to Sheena Jones if she could help her. She smiled at her and said “OK. Did you have breakfast? If not, tell me what you want to eat. I will cook for you.”

Sheena Jones laughed softly, acted as if she was feeling shy, and said “We had breakfast together.”

Austin Gray turned around and strode to the second floor without saying anything. As soon as Austin Gray left, Sheena’s smile disappeared and her expression changed as if she was in distress. She held Emily’s hand tightly and said in a nasal voice “Emi, I know you are angry with me. I am sorry. I didn’t know that you are married to Austin. If I knew then….” She sighed and continued “I tried to avoid him but I can’t. I love him so much. I can’t leave him. Do you understand me?”

She looked at her with teary eyes as if she was about to cry. Emily patted the back of her hand and said “I don’t want this relationship anymore. I want a divorce, but President Gray is reluctant to lea….”

Before she could finish Sheena Jones started speaking “That matter is between you and Austin. I don’t want to interfere. I only want to tell you that I can’t leave Austin. I love him very much.”

Though Emily didn’t have any expectations from this relationship still she felt a sharp pain in her heart hearing Sheena Jones to confess her love for Austin. She hid her uneasiness in her heart and forced to smile.

Sheena Jones released her hand, kept her bag on the dining table, and asked with a smile “Can you make coffee for me?”

Emily nodded and smiled. Then she went to the kitchen to brew coffee. Sheena Jones sat down on the chair, took out her phone, and chatted with someone for a while.

“Oops, Emi, I forgot something in the car. Let me bring it.”

She put down her phone on the dining table and walked out of the hall. Emily came out with a cup of coffee and looked at her back. She then put down the cup on the dining table. Just then her gaze landed on the phone. The urge of picking up the phone suddenly emerged in her mind. She extended her hand to grab the phone. Her hand was shaking and her back was drenched by cold sweat. She looked around and after hesitating for a moment she finally picked up the phone and quickly dialed her father-in-law’s number.

The ring was going and going. She became impatient and fixed her gaze at the door. She was biting her nails in nervousness. Her hands and feet were cold as ice. The ring ended and no one answered the call. She redialed and waited impatiently. Her heart was jumping up and down vigorously. Her hand holding the phone was trembling. Finally, the call was connected and she heard the familiar voice of her father-in-law “Hello.”

“Hello Dad, I am Emily. I need to talk to you. The will, you need to…” The phone was snatched away from her hand before she could complete her sentence. She looked up and met Austin Gray’s ferocious gaze.

‘Over… It’s all over.’ These words were coming into her mind. She was terrified. Austin Gray looked at her fiercely and put the phone on his ear only to hear his father saying “Emily, hello… How are you? Hello…”

He disconnected the call without a single word. Pa… Pa… He slapped her twice as soon as he cut the call. He slapped her so hard that she fell on the ground, her cheeks turned immediately red and fingers mark was clearly visible.

“Now you have become a thief also. Ha…You didn’t stop scheming against me. I wonder how far you can go. One day you will not hesitate to kill someone to achieve your goal, right?” He squatted down, pinched her chin hardly, and asked “Are you planning to kill Sheena, or are you planning to kill me?”

She brushed off his hand, stood up abruptly, and shouted helplessly “I am not a criminal. I wanted to tell him that I have no interest in your property. Why don’t you allow me to talk to him once?”

Austin Gray lazily stood up and said “Do I look like a fool? I know everything that you are trying to do, so don’t play with me.”

“Austin. Is everything alright?” Sheena’s sweet voice sounded from the entrance. They both looked in the direction of the sound only to see Sheena Jones walking towards them holding a packet.

Austin Gray walked towards her, showed her the phone, and said coldly “You shouldn’t leave your phone unattended like this. Do you know anyone can misuse your phone? Why didn’t you lock your phone?”

Sheena Jones took the phone from him and said “I am sorry. I will be more careful next time. It is like another home. I didn’t feel unsafe here so I just went out to bring this packet from the car.” Her voice sounded so innocent.

Austin Gray’s gaze softened when he heard her. He pulled her into his embrace and said tenderly “I know baby, you are so simple and innocent, but all the people are not the same as you. Some are very cruel. You must be careful.”

She slammed her fist on his chest playfully and said like a spoiled child “Who is cruel here? There is only you and Emi. She is not cruel.” She peeked at Emily from his shoulder and added “Right Emi?”

Emily lowered her head and didn’t say anything.

Austin Gray patted her back and said “Let’s go outside. I want to take you somewhere.”

She said excitedly “Really? Then let’s go. Can Emily also go with us?”

She asked this question with a beaming smile. She was looking at him full of hope, but he denied “No. I want to spend time with you only.”

Emily laughed in her heart. ‘Who wants to go with you? I want to stay far away from you.’ She wanted to say this, but she didn’t want to waste her energy in talking to him. Furthermore whatever she would say he won’t trust her, so she kept quiet.
