Cold…cold… so cold. ‘It’s cold.’ She murmured. She curled up and hugged her knees. She was shivering. She didn’t open her eyes. ‘So cold.’ She murmured again. She slowly opened her eyes and found out that she was lying on the cold floor naked. She then recalled she was kicked down from the bed by Austin Gray after having s*x. She looked around. It was still dark outside. Austin Gray was not there. Hmm, as usual, he left.

She tried to get up, but she felt dizzy. But she gathered her strength to get up and walked to the closet slowly with the support of the wall. She took out a random dress and wore it. She was feeling very cold. She went back to the bed, pulled up the blanket, and lied down.

‘Am I having a fever?’ She said this in her mind. She then put her hand on her forehead. It was burning. She tried to call for help but her voice was hoarse, and she couldn’t shout loud. She curled up under the blanket and closed her eyes. She was feeling restless. Her whole body was aching. Her eyes were closed and she could see different images. Was she dreaming? She saw her parents. She saw her father-in-law. All were smiling at her and calling her from afar. She was running towards them. But she couldn’t reach them. She was running faster, faster, and faster, but the distance was the same as before. She looked down and found out that she was running on the same spot. She was not able to cross a single inch. She was frustrated. She tried harder and harder to run but she was not able to move from the spot as if some invisible force was blocking her way. She cried, struggled, and shouted “Let me go, let me go….”

She abruptly sat up on the bed and panting heavily. She was drenched in sweat. The maid who was cleaning the room looked at her with a puzzled expression. Emily also looked at her and wanted to say something, but before that, she ran away from there.

She forgot to close the door, so Emily got up quickly and tried to run away but the middle-aged man came inside. He said “You had a fever. I gave you medicine. How are you feeling now?”

“What is time?”

“It’s afternoon now. I will bring some food. You must be hungry.”

He turned around and left immediately. This time also he didn’t close the door. Emily was surprised. She slowly walked to the door and peeked outside. There was no one outside the room. Her heart was beating faster. Her throat was dry. She swallowed saliva and stepped out of the room. She looked around if someone saw her coming out of the room. To her surprise, she didn’t find anyone. She hurriedly ran down the stairs and looked around. She thought this is her chance to escape from there. She saw a giant wooden door at the end of the big hall. She rushed to the door with her all might and tried to open it, but the door was closed. She started banging on the door and screamed “Open the door, open the door.”

“Why are you shouting?”

She startled and turned around to look. Austin Gray? He was there. She trembled in panic. She was caught red-handed. She was forbidden to come out of that room but now he found out her outside the room then he would definitely punish her. She was terrified. She looked at him in horror. She was trembling vigorously in fear. She heard him say “From now on you will not be locked in that room, but you are not allowed to go out of that door.”

She was stunned. She couldn’t believe her own ears. Was she hearing properly? Or her brain was playing tricks on her? When she was lost in her thoughts, he walked towards her elegantly while saying “Go and eat lunch. It’s already late. After that, you have many things to do. Don’t waste time.”

She stood there motionlessly as if she was rooted there. Her eyes never leaving him. He then sat down on the couch, looked up at her, and asked coldly “Are you deaf? What are you staring for? Go and eat.”

She ran away from there and looked around. There was a dining table on one side of the hall. Food was served and the middle-aged man was standing there near the dining table. She walked there and was about to sit on the chair. Just then she heard Austin Gray shout “Who allowed you to sit on the dining table and eat?” He glared at the middle-aged man and said angrily “Thomas, give her food where other servants eat.”

Thomas nodded, took the plate of food, and said “Follow me.”

Emily quietly followed him. Outside the hall, there was a room where a long table and long bench were placed. It might be the dining area of the servants. Thomas placed the plate on the table and left without a word. Emily sat down on the bench and started eating quietly. She was hungry as she didn’t eat anything from last night.

After finished eating, she came to the main hall, but she saw Austin Gray standing at the entrance elegantly placing both hands in pocket. He was looking at her coldly. She was startled and retreated a few steps. She felt vulnerable under his cold gaze. His cold demeanor was extremely oppressive. She felt chill all over her body. He opened his mouth and said “As you have finished eating, now go and clean the dishes. From now on you will do all the household works and don’t even think to run away from here. If you try to run away, then I will let your old parents suffer.”

She got angry when she heard about her parents from his mouth and shouted “Austin, don't go too far. Don’t even think to touch my parents.”

“Then obey me and don’t act recklessly. As long as you obey me, I won’t hurt them. Now start working. You have to cook dinner also.”

He turned around and strode away. Emily looked at his back until he went inside a room on the second floor. Then she looked around her surroundings.

It was a two-tiered building. There was a huge couch in the living room and a big-screened TV. The dining area was also big with a huge dining table. The decoration of the room was very luxurious. All the furniture and decorative items looked very expensive. She didn’t know how many rooms were there in the villa. She was amazed by the view and couldn’t help but think how rich he was. He was the president of ‘Dynamic Groups’ and lived like a king, then why he didn’t say anything about this to his father before. He could have explained clearly to him everything and leave her. In that way, they could have lived happily. She sighed and went to the kitchen to wash dishes.

She was stunned to see the huge pile of dishes. How many days they didn’t wash the dishes? She looked at the pile in awe for a few seconds. Then she recalled what Austin Gray told her. He said she had to cook dinner also. She then started washing the dishes without wasting time. After a long time, she finally finished washing. She was very tired. She had a fever last night and was not fully recovered yet. She then looked around the kitchen to start cooking. She opened the refrigerator and took out some vegetables and chicken. She roasted the chicken, made vegetable soup, and fried potatoes with onions.

When she almost finished cooking, she saw Austin Gray come down. She hurriedly walked to him and said “Dinner is ready. If you want to eat, I will serve.”

He walked to the dining area without replying to her. She went to the kitchen and took out all the dishes she cooked and served him. He looked at the dishes and his eyes flickered for a few seconds as if he remembered something. He then started eating lowering his head. During the entire meal, he didn’t speak. After finished eating, he walked away from there without looking back. Emily took her food to the dining area of servants and ate there. After finished eating, she washed the dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and finally went back to the room.

When she reached the room, she didn’t know whether she should close the door or not. After hesitating for a few moments, she finally closed the door. But the moment she closed the door, she felt a tremor in her heart. She feared this closed room. She thought what if she couldn’t open the door again. She then hurriedly opened the door. It was better to sleep like this, after all, there was no one in the villa other than Austin Gray. Whether she locked the door or not if he wanted to come to her and torture her, she had no right to refuse him. He already threatened her. To protect her parents, she must obey him. After thinking in this way, she went to the bathroom to freshen up. After taking a hot shower she came out wrapping a towel. When she came out, she saw Austin Gray lying on the bed placing his two hands below his head.
