The next morning she was awakened by the bright sunlight and chirping noise of birds. When she opened her eyes she found herself in the armchair on the balcony. Then only she realized she slept there the entire night. She went inside the room and looked up at the wall clock.

It was half-past 6 in the morning. After taking shower she went out of her room and started cooking breakfast. Once she finished cooking she saw her father-in-law coming out of his bedroom. He came to her and said “Dear, did you sleep well?”

“Yes, Dad.”

“Good.”

She served him some slices of bread toasts and eggs scrambled she prepared. Then she also sat down on a chair opposite him. During breakfast, they discussed some business-related things. She wanted to talk about her divorce with him but she couldn’t gather her courage.

With a heavy heart, she went to her father-in-law’s interior designing company ‘Global interiors’. She was the chief designer of that company. This was a small company with few employees, but they all were hard workers. In a small town like Oakland, there were very few interior designing companies, so the company’s net profit was good.

She tried hard to concentrate on her work but she was not able to control her mind to not think about Austin Gray and Sheena Jones. She was absent-minded and scribbling continuously in her notebook. Suddenly she felt a jolt on her desk as her phone started vibrating. She looked down at her phone and saw Austin Gray’s number. She was angry when she saw his number and wanted to throw the phone away. But her hand froze and after hesitating for a few seconds she answered the call “Hello.”

There was silence on the other end. She also didn’t say a single word. After a long time also when she didn’t hear anything she got frustrated and about to hung up the call. Then she heard him saying “I am sorry baby.”

Her heart thumped loudly. She thought that she heard it wrongly. She put the phone in her ear tightly so that she could hear it clearly. “I was wrong. Can you please come down? I am outside.”

‘He is outside?’ She was shocked. What was he doing here? She went to the window and pulled up the window shield. He was indeed standing outside the building looking at the 5th floor. This was the floor where the ‘Global Interiors’ office located. She quickly lowered the shield as though she was scared to be seen by him.

She heard him again “Baby, I want to talk to you. Please come down once.”

She didn’t want to talk to him but hearing his pleading tone her heart softened a little. She thought there was no harm to talk once. She also wanted some answers. After thinking in this way she answered “OK.”

She went out of the building. The moment he saw her, he came running to her and hugged her tightly. She felt warmth in her heart. The anger and hatred towards him vanished instantly and hugged him back. She heard him saying “Baby I am sorry. Can you forgive me? I will resign from ‘Dynamic Groups’, but I can’t live without you.”

He released her from his embrace, looked down at her, and said “I will start my career again. There are so many companies in Viro, but there is only one for you. I can’t lose you. I came today to take you with me. We will live together from now on.”

She was very happy to hear this. Tears of happiness streamed down through her cheeks. She smiled and asked, “You really mean it?”

He cupped her face and said “Yes baby. Will you go with me?”

She nodded vigorously and said “Yes.”

He hugged her and said “I am relieved. I thought you won’t forgive me.”

He then held her hand and said “Let’s have lunch together. Our flight is in the afternoon. We don’t have much time left.”

She looked at him and said, “Then I need to go home for packing.”

“No need. I have arranged everything for you.”

She happily followed him. After lunch, they directly went to the airport. Her father-in-law, James Gray came to see off them. He hugged Emily Gray and said “Take good care of yourself. Don’t worry about me. If you need help then call me immediately.”

“Yes, Dad.”

She was happy. During her two years of marriage, Austin Gray never insisted to take her with him. He always told her to look after his father and his company. She always wanted to stay with him. Now as he came to take her she was satisfied. In her heart, she had no complaints left. She hoped she could start her life with him again and she would give him so much love that he won’t think about Sheena Jones again.

It was night when they landed at Viro. Austin Gray was silent the moment they boarded the plane. He was walking out of the arrival wing with long strides. Emily Gray was almost running to follow him. His behavior was very cold to her. He was not even looking at her. She was puzzled about the change in his behavior. But she thought he might be tired so he was behaving like this.

Outside the arrival wing, the familiar Rolls Royce was parked and Austin Gray got in the car. Emily Gray followed him and also got in the car. Before she could sit properly the car started moving. She lost her balance and fell on him. He grabbed her arms, pushed her back on the seat, and said “Sit properly.”

His tone was rough, filled with disgusts. She looked at him in surprise. When he was in Oakland he talked to her so sweetly and now he didn’t even want to look at her. What was he doing? Why was he angry with her? She wanted to ask him but he was looking outside not bothering her as if she never existed there. Tears welled up in her eyes but she blinked frequently to not shed them. After more than an hour of driving the car stopped moving.

Austin Gray said coldly “Get out.”

Emily Gray panicked. She didn’t know why he asked her to get out of the car. It was night and she didn’t know anything about this city and she didn’t even bring her purse. If he told her to go away then where would she go? She was scared.

“Get out of the car.” Austin Gray shouted loudly.

She startled and quickly opened the door. She hurriedly got off the car. She looked around her surroundings. It was a huge villa complex. She was looking around in astonishment. ‘Does he live here?’ she muttered in her mind. While she was lost in her thoughts her arm was grabbed by a strong hand and she was dragged away from there.

She shouted “Austin, what are you doing? You are hurting me.”

But he didn’t listen to her. He dragged her all the way and threw her inside a room. She fell on the floor hard. She looked around instantly. It was a bedroom. There was a big bed in the center of the room and a sofa in one corner. She didn’t get time to look more. Austin Gray closed the door behind him and picked her up. He pinched her chin and asked, “Are you satisfied now?”

She tried to brush off his hand but his strength increased on her chin. She felt pain and asked “What are you saying? You bring me here. You said that you want to live with me together.”

He sneered “I didn’t have any choice. Dad forced me to do so. He told me that if I divorce you then I won’t get any share of my family property. How can I lose that? Now that you want to be my wife so much then bear it.”

He then pushed her on the big bed. Though the bed was soft and it didn’t hurt her but the impact of falling was so high that her body jumped up and down a few times. He then removed his belt and dropped his pant. Emily Gray was scared. She didn’t see him so angry like this before. He was always very gentle to her but today he was like a hungry lion ready to tear her apart.

Within a blink, he jumped onto her and pressed her down. He then started kissing her lips hungrily. It was not a sensual kiss, it was a rough kiss ready to destroy her lips. He was biting her lips hardly. Then he tore her dress and threw it down. He then roughly kneaded her breasts and inserted his erect member hardly. Emily Gray was screaming and pleading to stop, but he turned deaf. He continued his movement until she stopped moving. Her entire energy drained away and she even didn’t have the strength to lift her hand.

He stood up and said, “If you didn’t say about my relationship with Sheena to Dad, then you could have lived a good life at Oakland.” He turned around and left.
