The Witch and The Hybrid

 My name is Emilia Tyler, I'm a witch, I live in Alexandria Virginia with my parents and siblings. We live under the leadership of the Supernatural Council, the council was founded in 1904 when a group of witches came together in hopes of forming treaties with other supernatural creatures. My mother was a founding member of this group, she helped set up the rules and regulations for the council. The council is made up of Elders, one Elder from each species has a seat on the council. My uncle Jonathan is the Witch Elder, he was appointed Elder because he's the eldest in the family. My uncle Brian took on the Human Elder seat when my grandfather Peter died 10 years ago. In 1985 my mom finally found her soulmate, my dad, while at a college frat party. She saw him standing at the DJ booth and she immediately recognized him from her vision, when their eyes met it was an instant connection and they've been together now for 35 years. I have an older brother who's in line to be the next Witch Elder, and a twin brother who's a pain in the neck and a little sister. It's not uncommon for a human to be mated to a nonhuman, most are mated to werewolves or vampires. Some have even been mated to demons and angels, I even heard of a mermaid mating with a human. Some unions are not so common and sometimes are subjected to rejections, the Council has had to judge disputes over some soulmate matches. In the end the matches stick because the council can not over rule the Gods/Goddesses soulmate matching. Since the creation of the council our world has become peaceful and serene, there's no hatred, no prejudice. Everyone gets along with everyone, so many communities are a combination of different creatures. I have an variety of friends as does my brother, we've all grown up together and even attended the same schools. I have two best friends that I've known since I was in preschool, Michael who is a witch/genie hybrid and Rachel who is a succubus demon. I love how everybody can get along and that this world is a pleasant one.
