“I think we’re almost here, babe,” Jimmy said. “Uh?” Barry mumbled. Had he been asleep? The jet lag was really kicking his ass. Eyes closed and leaning against Jimmy, the man’s sweet scent made Barry feel all warm, safe, and protected. “Your old home,” Jimmy added. Barry opened his eyes, sat up and looked out the window at a familiar if wet scene. He tried to view his home town—or rather the town he used to call home—from Jimmy and Jake’s eyes. He’d previously warned them that while Filey was pretty, it was small, and he hoped they wouldn’t be disappointed.
