GINA
My fingers were cold when I pressed them to my mouth, and greeted the uniformed driver who only met my eyes in the mirror before looking away.
Odd. I leaned back into the lush leather seat, feeling silly and poor before peering out the window at the trees that flew past us.
Holy crap, I was really doing it, moving to the Alpha’s castle with nothing to my name but the old clothes in my rucksack!
“Oh my gosh, it's really happening,” I whispered excitedly, I felt lightheaded when the limo finally pulled up in front of the black towering gates of the manor.
I could see the gothic black castle that loomed up ahead as the car lurched forward again and I gasped when I saw Alpha Rivera waiting outside with all his sons. All except Atticus Stone.
I shivered when the limo stopped right before their stern figures as they stood in their expensive suits and I shakily stepped out of the car, cursing silently when my bag slipped out of my hand to scatter on the stone floor embarrassingly.
“Y-Your Highness, thank you again for the opportunity-” I stammered before his harsh voice cut me off.
“You’re late. Leave it. The chauffeur will take that...thing up to your quarters.” Alpha Rivera bellowed, his face like thunder, and I immediately stood, aware that all three of his drop-dead gorgeous sons were staring at me intensely.
“I believe you've met my sons, Damon, Caden, and Thomas, meet Gina, she goes to the academy and she’ll be your handmaid for as long as I deem fit,” The Alpha barked in a voice that brooked no argument and I heard the boys groan as if he had just sentenced them to death.
“We don't need a f*****g babysitter father, much less someone who stole from us,” Caden growled, throwing me an icy stare that made me take an unconscious step back, feeling scared.
“Yeah, good luck explaining HER to Atticus,” Damon snickered, rolling his brilliant green eyes and storming away from us with his brothers as the Alpha appeared to contemplate his son’s words and I wondered just how scary the firstborn was.
“Roberto!” Alpha Rivera bellowed suddenly once we were inside the lavish castle and I jerked in surprise when the overweight man popped up behind me in a chef costume.
Were all the wolves in the Alpha’s castle lightning fast?
“Show the lady to her duties, I have much more important things to attend to, excuse me.” Alpha Rivera breathed and I inhaled deeply, taking in his warm masculine scent as he swept past me and followed the robust man to a marble-covered kitchen.
I had never seen anything so beautiful in my life, with the white furniture and black glossy tiles that screamed luxury.
“Great! Start there!” Robert grunted, pointing me to a stack of slimy bone china played that looked to be overflowing from the dishwasher.

“You're telling me you don't know how to use a bloody dishwasher? What are you? Some f*****g cave woman?” Thomas growled and I winced and pinched my fingers in my skirt tighter, knowing my face was red as a hot, plumpy tomato.
The three brothers had been sitting in the drawing room, mumbling incoherently and breaking into complete silence when I burst in like a bat out of hell, wheezing like a damned donkey.
“Un-f*****g-believable, where does father get these ratty ass maidens?” Caden growled and I felt a stab of pain in my chest at his words when I realized his electric green eyes were glaring directly at me.
I swallowed heavily, the din of their voices buzzing like static in my ear as I tried to blink the tears back into my eyes before Damon stretched to his feet, knocking my shoulder back so that I almost fell to the floor in a heap as he pushed past me.
Did he not realize how strong he was? I wiped my sweaty hands on the apron, running down after him to keep up with his strides and unable to keep myself from admiring the straight line of his broad back, the way the shorts he was wearing molded over his muscles. Muscles that I could only dream of having wrapped around my body.
“Earth to Gina! Keep your head on your shoulders! Bloody hell it's like I'm speaking to a damned child.” Damon hissed, and I felt my heart lurch in my chest before I immediately snapped my eyes to see his strong hands moving faster than I could follow the buttons.
“Do you understand?” Damon growled, leaning in to tower over me until I felt my head bobbing even when I hadn't followed a word he said, thinking instead of his lips, before snapping myself out of it as he shouldered past without another word, ignoring my stammering.
“Focus Gina! You can't lose this job!” I cursed myself, slapping my hands to my cheeks until they burned and jumped out my skin when the Mexican chef with his shirt buttons stretched tight over his big belly spoke suddenly behind me.
“Gina dear, thank heavens you're here, take this up to master Atticus’ room, will you? It's the last suite at the top of the staircase, you can't miss it.” Roberto chirped in a voice that brooked no argument, dumping the covered gold tray in my stretched hands before I could think and turning back to stir the sweet-smelling ginger broth in the pot.
Crap, I had never even met Atticus before, but I had heard stories of the unapproachable Alpha that hated people invading his personal space.
Even his brothers dreaded going up to his room, how the hell was I supposed to give him his food?
“You can do this Gina, come on!” I breathed to myself as I climbed up the staircase on wooden legs, feeling my heartbeat in my ears as the bone china rattled with each step I took that brought me closer to the imposing gold door and the very scary man that lived just behind it.
Alpha Atticus.
