The Power Four

Chapter 4

VENUS'S POV

"Can we even walk pass the barrier?" I asked Eve who's looking around the gate towards Zodor. 

"Look at those winged creatures, so free and courteous," Eve replied to me. She's right, everyone here looks so friendly. 

"Maybe it's not that hard to find that herb, for whatever reason it might be." Eve walked towards a stall outside the gate and asked about the Heaven's Leaf. Every stall we've been to gave us the same disappointing answer. It's either they never sell any or they have no stock of it.

I sighed after we asked the 10th stall. 

"I take it back. It's f*****g hard to find one." Creatures around us gasped when they heard me cursed. I apologised before things get out of hand. 

"Are you looking for the Heaven's Leaf, child?" A withered old man asked us while covering his face with his shawl. 

"Yes." I eagerly answer him. Evechold me down. "How did you know?" She asked. She's being cautious.

"It's not that hard to figure it out when you asked every stall owner out loud." He's got a point there.

 "So, if you seek for one, follow me. If you're having second thoughts, I can't help you with that." I let Eve think about it. She seems to be wiser than I am.

 "How much does it cost us?" She asked. 

"Oh, nothing much. But from the looks of your clothing, miss, you can afford it." Eve looked down to her clothing.

"Told yah you shouldn't wear silk," I whispered.

 "How am I suppose to know this place judge someone according to their clothes." She whispered back. We both decided to follow the old man towards a cabin not far from Zodor's Gate. Eve looked around before walking inside the cabin. 

"We're walking into a trap aren't we?" I asked while grabbing her hands. 

"Looks like it." We both startled when the old man closed the door shut.

He walked towards the fireplace before facing us both with his cynical smile. 

"How dumb can you two be?" He suddenly said.

 "Welcome to my cabin, where most of the travellers didn't make it out.... alive." He laughed. Eve and I don't even find this funny.

 "Do you have Heaven's Leaf or not?" Eve asked. He smirked. 

"Oh, I do, in that room. Do you even know what Heaven's Leaf is?" He asked us both. Come to think of it, we don't even have a clue. We both thought it looks like a leaf of some sort.

We both shake our head. He laughed again.

 "Heaven's Leaf is the life essence of a demon that was on the verge of dying. You're in luck because I do have a demon bound in my bedroom, waiting for me to pull out her life essence, from her body." Both Eve and I have no idea that this little herb we thought is a life source for a creature.

"How much?" I pulled on Eve's hand. I can't believe she even considering buying it after knowing what it is! 

"Not much. Maybe.... 10 full pouch of Akeldama gold coins. You can have the dying demon to your heart desire." Eve scoffed. 

"Can we see this demon. I want to make sure it will not attack us while we pull it from her body." What the hell Eve! As important as the task is, this is absurd! Even for us!

"Sure. Follow me." I unwillingly followed the old man towards his bedroom. As he said, there's a creature bound on his walls, breathing but she seems weak. I can't help but feel the need to help for. Why do I feeling this kind of feelings when I saw Eve for the first time? Why do I feel my heart beating faster than usual? WHY do I have the urges to tell her everything will be okay?! I touched my chest while I can't take my eyes off of her.

"No way..." Eve said while looking at me. 

"Seriously?! Seriously Venus?!" What? I don't understand. 

"V you found your second mate." She explained. What? I did?! How?

 "Your eyes, it changes colour to red, like it did when you saw me. What should we do?" She asked. 

"Well, we should help her first." Eve scratching her head while sighing. 

"Alright then... since we have not enough money...."

I watched as Eve reached for something under her robe. She pulled a stick from her robe. Wait, it's not just an ordinary stick, it's a f*****g wand! With just a flick she releases the bound demon from the wall. I caught her seconds before her body touches the floor. 

"I never thought I'll be killing someone in Zodor." Eve sighed before huge size of veins piercing every hole the old man has in the body and I mean EVERY hole.

"Who .... are you?" The demon's voice seems too vulnerable.

 "Venus, and that's Eve, my mate." By now I noticed she's only wearing some type of garment that only covered her breast and private parts. 

"Your scent.... it's.... mesmerising..." when she looked up her eyes were fully black with no white of her eyes. Her fangs were extracted as she licking her lips. I don't know what to do except slowly being weak myself. Is this the power of a demon? She brushed her lips against my neck before she pierced it while sucking my blood.

"WHAT THE f**k! EVEN I HAVEN'T DONE THAT!" I can hear Eve's angry voice... somewhere... slowly I felt my life is slipping away from me. I feel so weak yet satisfy. 

"b***h! DON'T KILL HER!" Eve yelled. I don't know what happens but when I finally back to my senses, I saw the demon was on the floor, being choke by Eve.

 "Eve..." I tried to stop her. 

"EVE!" I yelled for her. She stopped choking the demon and went to my side.

I heard the demon started to cough and gasping for air.

 "You're delicious." She said before standing up. 

"Nice job killing him. He lured me with human blood. Damn elf." She went to sticking her tongue in front of the dead old man. 

"That's what you get for tricking me!" She faces Eve and me. 

"Thank you for your blood. I'll be going now." Black feather wings suddenly appeared from her back. She flaps a couple of times before destroying the whole roof of the cabin with the huge gush of wings from her wings.

She shot off to the sky, leaving us. 

"Oh no, you don't!" Eve suddenly stood up and aimed her want on the demon. 

"COME BACK HERE!" The veins pierced through the demon's back and Eve pulled her down as if she's a kite. 

"YOU'VE SUCK YOUR MATE'S BLOOD! YOU'VE MARK HER! DON'T WALK AWAY!" Eve is angry. I know she is. She pulled the demon down hard. The winged creature was struggling to release herself but Eve always has her way to pull her down.

"WHAT IN THE NAME OF THE DEVIL ARE YOU DOING TO ME!" The demon girl screamed back at Eve. I can't see clearly. I feel so dizzily, my heads throbbing. What is going on with me?!

 "HEAL HER!" Eve yelled. 

"GET THE f**k AWAY FROM ME YOU b***h!" Eve punches the demon's face with her fist.

 "YOUR GAVE HER YOUR POISON! HEAL HER YOU CUNT!" Eve shoved her head towards me.

"DO IT!" Eve screamed. Before I know it, the demon kissed my lips passionately and everything went dark.

"You better make sure she's alive! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU MARK HER WITHOUT EVEN GIVING A SECOND THOUGHT!"

Is that Eve? Who's she screaming at? Is it the demon girl?

 "I'm sorry, I can't control myself. Her scent is just calling for me. It's like I want to ravage her body to my desire." That voice, it's the demon. 

"Despite her looks, she seems a good creature. I always thought my mate would be one damn fine creature but she'll do." Is that a compliment or something else?

I moved my hands a little, telling them I'm fully awake. I slowly opened my eyes and looked up the ceiling. 

"That's a nice artwork." I compliment the drawing on the ceiling. I'm not sure what it is but from the looks of its horns and black feathery wings, that's her, the demon girl.

 "Thank you. You're currently sleeping on my bed." That demon said.

 "You told me your name but I haven't told you mine. My name is Avi. I am one of many of Azazel's offspring."

Eve scoffed.

 "Great. The demon of Lust. No wonder his daughter's a seductress and a whore." Eve mumbled beside me. 

"Help me up.." Eve smiled before she helped me up. I sat on the bed looking at my hand. I felt a slight pain on my neck. I touched it and there it is the bite mark.

 "I need your attention." Eve suddenly said.

 "She bit you. That's mean you have to bite her back. Your body is weak, you need to suck her blood to gain your strength back."

What? That's too sudden. Avi walked towards me while wearing nothing to cover her body. SHE'S FULLY NAKED IN FRONT OF ME!

 "Come on hybrid, let those fangs in me. Let's get this over with. I need to go back to the underworld." She removed her black hair from her neck and showed me the spot I need to bite on. I turned to Eve.

 "Bite her.... then... if it's not that big of a fuss, bite me as well. I want your mark on my body.."

Was she blushing?! I never seen her blushed before.

 "Come on..." Avi didn't even let me readying myself when she shoved my face on her neck. She gasped when my fangs pierced into her neck. I could get used to this. I don't know where I got the strength but when I tasted her blood flowing through my throat, I can't get enough of it. I pushed her body on the floor while straddling her. My hands-on both her breast as I heard her melodious moans.

I released my mouth from her neck and looked down on her flushed face. 

"Alright. now I'm sure we're mates." I was about to smile when I felt the most excruciating headache I ever felt in my entire existence. I grabbed on my head while screaming for it to stop. I can feel Eve's hands around me and so does Avi's. What is going on with my body?!

"WHAT'S GOING ON?!" I heard Avi's voice.

I looked around the dark realm when I finally opened my eyes. It looks familiar to me. 

"Clio?" I heard Eve's voice calling for the sorceress.

 "It is I, Clio." What?! No! Did she take over my body? "Where's Venus?!" Eve asked. "Don't worry, she's in my world... deep inside her body. I want to make sure everything is in motion with this little task Ivory had given you. Seems like you found Heaven's Leaf." I can feel my hands were touching something soft.

"Oh my... you're very talented with your hands." Avi sound like she's going to orgasm at any moment. "Stop that!" Eve seems to be in a bad mood again.

 "Bring her back to Constantine. Aretha will know what to do." Clio's voice echoes and I don't know what happens but I am back within Eve's arms. 

"VENUS!" Eve hugged me while Avi putting on some clothes.

 "Why the hell are you wearing my clothes?" Eve asked the demon.

"What? You don't need any of this right? You only have one body. Can't a girl try some of these quality silk clothes." Avi seems to be having fun teasing Eve since they met.

 "You better not touching my stuff!" Eve warned her when Avi's hands were reaching for Eve's car trunk. 

"Wow... does a witch need all of this beauty product? How old are you anyway?" Avi laughed while rummaging Eve's trunk.

"GET TOUR HANDS OFF OF MY STUFF!!!" She screamed before running towards the demon, fist at the ready. Boy, this will be one heck of a trip back to our village.

"Are we there yet?" Asked Avi one more time. I can sense Eve is on the verge of screaming again.

 "No." Was all she said. We've been walking for hours since the ride that suppose to take us back home broke down.

 "Are we there yet?" Avi was restless. Eve suddenly faces her and screamed as loud of she could in front of her.

 "I take that as a no." She said while jogged towards me. 

"She's so cranky. Didn't you gave her the amount of s*x you should be giving?" I blushed.

 "SHUT UP!" Eve yelled at us. I decided to went to her side and walked beside her. 

"You're not okay. What's wrong?" I asked while she's glaring at the road in front of us. 

"What's wrong with me? You haven't marked me!" That is why she's angry all the time?

 "I will mark you when we're home. I mean do you want to be in such state in the middle of nowhere?"

Without noticing, we arrived at our little village. 

"Are we there yet?" Avi asked again. 

"Yes," Eve said.

 "You should let Aretha meet Avi. I'm going home and then I'll be coming to your home. Okay?" I nodded. She kissed my forehead before glaring at Avi. 

"You better behave yourself and don't capture anyone and randomly sucking their blood!"

"I am not that uncivilised." Avi was ready to fight when I stopped them both. By now everyone in the village turned their attention to us. 

"Stop embarrassing me. Stand down, Avi!" This is the first time I commanded someone like this. Avi was resisting but she obeys me. 

"You're lucky our mate is here stopping me from killing you." Eve scoffed. 

"Says the creature who's head exploded by a spell. Being a demon must have its perks." Eve stopped me from saying anything. 

"I'm going now. My ride is here." A limousine drove in front of us. Why didn't this limousine miraculously appeared when we walked all those hours. Avi whistled when Eve got in.

 "She gave the money huh?" I nodded. 

"She's noble. Come on, let's go home." I lead the demon towards my home. I noticed my grandmother was tending her flowers in front of our house. She looked up and immediately stood up.

"Venus.. you're home. I miss you. And ... you brought guest... a rather rude guest." That's when I noticed Avi was stepping on my grandmother's precious flower beds.

 "Avi..." I facepalm myself. 

"You're stepping on the flower bed." Avi immediately jumped away from the flower bed and looked up to my grandmother with a smile.

 "A demon smiling? Are you going to kill me when I fell asleep?" Avi laughed.

"Depends on what account, a great white witch. Aretha, the witch. One of the most powerful witches that came from the direct descendant of Sephora Ember. I've heard all about you. You can cure anything." There's so much I don't know about her, my grandmother. I sat on the garden stool and watched as my grandmother teaching a demon to appreciate a little flower. What the in the world was she trying to do. They talk to each other as if they are known for quite some time now.

"And that's how you plant a flower." Avi was even intrigued to do herself.

 "As expected from Heaven's Leaf." Wait, how did she know? 

"That leaf essence, it is vital for Ivory to regain her undead life back. Good job Venus. I am proud of you." Avi stood up.

 "Are you talking about the woman wearing a ruby crown? She's been bothering my sleep for the past week. She's a bitch." Her too? Does this mean all of my mates have the same dream occurring to them every night? I wonder what's her real plan is. I don't think she's planning to come back to life just for me. With so much effort to do so, she's planning something big. 

"She's planning something big. She wants revenge. She wants to avenge her family's death. That's the real side of Ivory you all should know about." My grandmother just answers my question.

But real side? What does she mean by that?

"Avi is it? What do you think about death?" She asked Avi.

 "Death? It's the most beautiful thing someone could ever face. I wish to be killed over and over again." This conversation just went darker than it supposes to be.

 "Oh... that's a serious wish. So if I kill you now you'll revive again?" Seriously? That's what my grandmother asked? While she grabbed a shovel.

 "Oh... this is interesting.. yes... I wish to be killed." Avi smirked.

"As you wish." My grandmother swings the shovel across Avi's face as hard as she could. I watched as Avi's body laid on the ground with her head rolling away from her body. 

"Why did you do that for!" I asked my grandmother. I noticed the villager don't even care what's happening in front of me.

 "These creatures will never know what's happening right now. Come on Avi. Revive yourself. I don't like waiting for long." Is she insane?!

I heard Avi laughed before I watched in horror as her headless body standing up. 

"See this Venus? This is the real power of a demon that possessed the Heaven's Leaf. Even if its head separated from its body, she still controls her body like normal." She explained.

 "How to kill her? Simple... bound her. That's all we can do. We can't kill someone who possessed the Heavens' Leaf except if we extracting it from its body and store them in a jar. But of course, the demon will be dead if doing so."

So the purpose she's doing this just to tell me what Avi is? "Azazel will kill me for doing this but... don't worry, she will not die." My hands were trembling from seeing my grandmother stabbed her hands inside Avi's body. 

"That tickles." I heard Avi said. 

"That's enough... I think." My grandmother pulled her hand away while holding a chunk of black tar.

 "Hmm... you've been quite an impure little demon. Venus placed her head on her body."

I don't know what to do except following my grandmother's orders. When I placed Avi's head on her body, the blood reconstructed her flesh to attached on her body again. 

"Thank you for that. I know you could cure anything."

Wait, what just happened? Cure from what? And what is that black tar?!
