The Alpha

In the world of werewolves, Alphas, the leaders of the packs, were almost always male. The only was a female can be an alpha is if there is no other heir, she can have no brothers and no male cousins. The reason this is such a rare occurrence is because most werewolf families are large most couple have several children, and an Alpha's first child is almost always a male, no one is quite sure why. However this is the case in Aria's family she was the only child born to the Alpha and Luna of the Red Moon pack. Both of whom were only children themselves. For this reason Aria would be the next alpha. She would be the leader. Knowing this the Alpha and Luna raised there daughter to be strong and able to lead a pack, hoping that her mate would be the beta's son. Unfortunately, when Aria turned 16 it became clear that beta's son was unfortunately not her mate.
