Are you drunk?

“What?” Jodie exclaimed as she saw the anger in my eyes. I turned the phone to her so she could read Liam’s message. Instead of sharing my frustration, she smiled. I questioned her through eye contact. “He really gets on your nerves doesn’t he” she giggled and I nodded. “He’s so annoying, he continuously winds me up, makes me feel uncomfortable, belittles me and then flirts with me just to make it seem like I’m desperate to sleep with him” I blurted out. She just looked at me with a huge smile across her face. “What?” I asked her and she giggled. “You really like him” she explained and I shook my head.  “I can’t stand him Jodie!” I expressed. “He winds you up, flirts with you and is mean to you. All the signs a man gives when they like someone. When the girl bites to his wind ups, lets them get to her and constantly thinks about him then she has the exact same feelings” she informed me and I groaned at her silly assumption. “Don’t be ridiculous” I scoffed and she continued to giggle. “I’m going to the toilet quickly, this alcohol is flowing right through me” she stood up and scurried up the stairs. I looked at my phone and replied Elle What makes you think that? Liam Because I can tell you think about me all the time. I bet you haven’t stopped talking about me either. Elle Get your head out of your arse Liam. I couldn’t care less. Just be back by 8! I put the phone back onto the table and Jodie came back down. The anger and frustration from Liams ego was stirring through my body, as soon as Jodie asked me what was wrong I couldn’t hold it in anymore. The alcohol pushed my confidence through the roof and I just blurted it all out.  “Wait, wait, you what?! Why did you watch him?” She exclaimed and I slumped back in my chair. “I don’t know Jodie, it was massive and I just couldn’t look away” I explained.  “Damn, he must be hot” she laughed. She stood up and walked over to the big glass cabinet and saw a load of picture frames. “Is that him!” She shouted. “Yup” I replied and she was silent for a moment. “Fucking... hell... he’s gorgeous!” She was drooling over the picture of him dressed in a black suit and tie standing next to his dad. Seemed like they were at some formal event, maybe a dinner party or a wedding. She turned around and said “you are in trouble” and filled up my glass.  Soon enough it was 8pm and there was still no sign of Liam. I was extremely drunk and so was Jodie. “Your gonna have to get a taxi to a hotel, if my mum catches you here she’ll go mad” I suggested and we both started sniggering. We booked her a last minute hotel down the road. Finally, Liam came through the door with a different girl to last night. He was shocked to find me and giggling away with an empty bottle of vodka in front of us. “Uh-oh!” I laughed childishly. Jodie flashed an I pressed expression as she set her eyes on Liam for the first time. “Elle? Have you been drinking?” He asked and I just sniggered at Jodie.  “What makes you think that?!” I smirked and Liam didn’t look amused at all.  “What’s going on here?” The girl asked and looked at me down her nose. This angered me. I stopped giggling and stumbled to my feet. “Do I have something on my face?” I snapped as her snooty expression increased. She laughed and I gritted my teeth.  “You won’t be laughing in a minute you fucking...” “That’s enough Elle!” Liam exclaimed and turned to the brunette woman he had brought back from his date.  “You’d better go whilst I deal with this” he quietly said to her. She smiled at him and kissed him. I scoffed and she flashed me an evil look before leaving. Liam sighed and turned back to me.  “Jodie, have you got somewhere to stay?” He asked and she stuttered as she replied. “Yup... we b...booked a hotel... down the r...road” she started sniggering again and Liam rang a taxi. Once the taxi had picked her up Liam directed the driver and came back into the house.  “Jesus Elle, how much did you drink?” he asked looking at the coffee table. **Liams POV** She was in a right state! I can’t have Mary and dad come home to find her like this. I need get her either sobered up or to bed. I sighed and walked over to her and put her arm around my neck. I guided her down the steps to her bedroom. “I’m not tired Liam!” She slurred and I managed to get her to the bottom step. She suddenly went over on her ankle and fell down. She squealed in pain and I picked her up in a cradle carry and took her into my bedroom. I checked the clock on the side. 8:56pm. Dad and Mary were going to be home any second. I laid her onto my bed and told her to stay put. After that, I ran up the stairs and into the kitchen to grab an ice pack for Elle’s ankle. All of a sudden, headlights shone through the gap in the curtain and I heard dad’s car pull up. “f**k!” I rushed to the sofa and put the ice pack behind the pillow to avoid any questions. I threw the empty bottle of vodka under the sofa just in time for them to walk through the front door.  “Hey!” I gulped trying to act as normal as I could. Mary and dad were staring at me, confused and concerned. “Where is Elise?” Mary asked and I tried to think up a quick lie.  “We had finished our film and she wanted to have a shower and get an early night. Something about looking for a job in the morning” I lied. The suspicion dissolved from their faces and they smiled. “Did you have a good time?” I prodded trying to change the subject and dad hung Mary’s coat up. “It was lovely and if you and Elle are getting along better then hopefully it will be a regular thing” dad proposed smiling at Mary.  “Great, that’s lovely” I smiled at them and they made their way towards the stairs to go up to their room. “We’re gonna head off to bed, had a bit much to drink” Mary giggled and I pressed my lips together and smiled. “Oh I know exactly what you mean”. Once they were out of sight I grabbed the empty bottle the threw it to the bottom of the bin bag. I tidied up the room a bit then took the ice pack down to Elle. “Where’d you go?” Elle stammered, barely opening her eyes. Luckily she had listened to me and stayed where I put her. I put the ice pack in a towel and put it onto her injured ankle.  “Ahh” she cried out in pain and I apologised. “What were you thinking?” I asked her and she just smiled back at me. “Did you enjoy your date” she spitefully snarled and I shook my head to her childishness. “Get some sleep and we can talk about it in the morning” I instructed and she curled up into my bed. I sighed deeply and sat beside her before laying down. I felt her soft skin pressed against my back which caused me to harden. f**k sake. I could f**k her brains out and she wouldn’t care right now. No, she’s too drunk for that and my time will come. I shimmied always from her touch and managed to fall asleep.
