Chapter 61

Comet and Larry both sat in the lounge of the hospital because Lester had said that they had no idea how badly Judith had been injured. Or even what kind of state she was in.

“Do you think that it is the right choice to let Daddy go alone to meet her?” asked Comet in a low whisper and Larry sighed. He also had the same feelings like Comet but he was not going to tell them out loud.

“I think that he needs to see for himself once what has happened to her. You are the one who insisted that you had to come here with him in two. We could have done something else as well!” said Larry and Comet pouted at him and said,” Why do you think that it was mistake for me? I really don’t trust Daddy around that b***h!”

“Comet!” Larry looked at her astounded.

“What? Tell me that I am wrong!” she reacted.

“There are a lot of things in the world which are not wrong but we don’t say them out loud and that too in places where we can be heard or recorded by others. The first lesson that you need to learn is to keep your mouth shut and your eyes and ears open. Because the first thing you need to do is how to do recon.”

Comet was listening to him very carefully and she nodded. It made sense to her what he was telling. Daddy had always a way of making her speak things that she usually did not want to tell even others. She had not even opened up about her feelings and emotions and her suicidal thoughts before Judith, the one woman who had been trying to crack her open for so many months.

“And then you need to learn how to lie,” said Larry with a wink.

“Really?”

“Of course baby girl. That is the only way that you are ever going to survive when you have been taken or captured. It will be easier for you to act dumb because people normally assume that blonde blue eyed girls and that too with a body like yours, they assume that you are dull headed and that you will be a really easy lay.”

“That is a really sexist and demeaning way of looking at women,” Comet replied in a very serious voice and Larry let out a short bark of laughter.

“You can say so. But you have again see it from the positive perspective as well. If they are taking you as a weak individual it is better to let them think so because it gives you an advantage.”

“Yes. That is true.”

“Is that so? Do you know that?”

“Yes. I cannot say that in here but later on I will tell you. When you actually show that you are a victim you get a lot of leeway of doing things and even you are preferred by men when you are actually submissive,” said Comet and her voice was low enough for only Larry to hear.

“True. True…” he sighed and said,” You really don’t trust that woman, don’t you?”

“No. I don’t.”

“Why?”

“No therapist is going to ask the handsome father of a girl suffering from PTSD that he needs to sleep with her and fulfill all her fantasies. And you, you are not at liberty to say something different here as well because you also have done the same thing. Yes with a woman whom you did not know and she was someone we had no connection with, but you did the same. I keep on thinking that, are all men pigs?”

“WHAT?” Larry shouted at her and she raised her brows.

“Please don’t make a scene. This is a hospital,” Comet reminded him.

“What did you say? You think that me and your Daddy are pigs?”

“Was that bad? I thought that I should have gone with assholes but I stuck with pigs to see how you reacted. Huh! Isn’t that right? I am the one who has been suffering here all these months from thinking what I am supposed to do and how I am supposed to be the old me while you both have either been interested in f*****g me, or in getting me back to my old state by taking me to a therapist, who, well not to mention, who is nothing but a f*****g b***h and is trying to be the leader of a ring and organization…huh! And you…you show like you care…but the moment that you are elsewhere you have been f*****g someone else,” Comet ranted and Larry looked at her in continued shock.

“So you are telling me that all this time you have been feeling jealous?” asked Larry.

“And is that really very difficult to believe?” asked Comet when they saw that Lester was coming out and she stood up and said,” What is her state?”

“Well her daughter has been kidnapped and she has been tortured very badly but I think that she did not want her daughter to be harmed. She keeps breaking down but I also think that she had no option rather than be in on this,” said Lester and Comet scowled at him.

“You see why I said that I needed to go along with him, Uncle Larry? This is the reason…because he is so f*****g unbelievably stupid when it comes to that woman. Tell me daddy, did you actually fall in live with her or has her hypnosis been really this strong that you cannot even form an opinion about what you see without being affected by her words?”

She did not give him much of a chance to reply but she went ahead in the direction of the cabin where Judith was. Lester went after her to stop her but Larry stopped him.

“No. Don’t do that. She is already extremely agitated with everything that has been going on and also our respective infidelities. I think that she needs to deal with this the way that she understands will assuage her anger the best.”

Comet unlocked the door and went inside and immediately she was greeted by the face of a guy which stopped her in her tracks. For a single moment Comet could not even think and she forgot the reason why she was in there. She had heard things like this happening to other men and women when they are so dumbstruck by the man or woman before them that they had no clue what they were going to do next and she was just like that.

“I am sorry but this is a private cabin. I am guessing that you are not a nurse, right? You look too young to be one,” the man said with a smile and Comet felt her insides heating up at his voice. The voice that fell on her ears with his low rich baritone and caused fluttering inside her.

“No…I am not,” she replied. She was genuinely dumbstruck that a man could be this masculine and beautiful at the same time. Beautiful is not a word that is normally used for men but she could not think of anything else when she actually looked at his face. He was tall and built like an Olympic swimmer with lean and muscular build and yet he could make an imposing figure any time that he wished to.

“Oh! Then you know her?” asked Jeremiah and Comet nodded mutely and then said,” She is my therapist.”

“Oh! I did not know that…how did you know that she was here?” asked Jeremiah and Comet said,” Because she is having an affair with my step-father. The man who just visited you a little while back..”

“I see,” Jeremiah replied and his face took a grim look.

“I know that what you have heard might have sounded bad but don’t take it otherwise. He wasn’t lying at all. She has actually done all these things,” said Comet as her face took on an equal hard look as she glared at Judith who was now unconscious.

“I don’t know who she is anymore. I knew that she was not a woman who would put her own child in danger just so that she could live. I mean, I have seen her do things which have always made me question her morality and ethics but I have always found her to be protecting Jenny no matter what. Even when it came to my own father, he was a sucker for beautiful and glamorous women but she always kept Jenny out of his way so that she might not be anyway be assaulted by my father.”

Comet thought about what he said. This guy seemed genuine in his approach and he was wearing his uniform till now.

“It seems like you did not even had a chance to change your clothes yet. Did you get back just today?” asked Comet as she took a seat at another stool in the room and Jeremiah nodded.

“I came home today. I came in a few months earlier. I still have not regained the full use of my leg. I was in rehab and therapy trying to walk back,” said Jeremiah and Comet’s face took on a pained look.

“I am really sorry for all that you have suffered,” said Comet and Jeremiah smiled at her genuinely touched.

“I have never seen anyone so genuinely affected by someone else’s pain in such a short period of time. That is the sign of true empathy…you are a very nice person it seems. By the way, I am Jeremiah…and you are?”

“Oh I am Comet!” she replied back excitedly blushing.
