Roan Roan couldn’t take a breath. And he needed it. He desperately did. His lungs had closed off How the hell did she manage to figure his secret out so easily? He’d never admitted it even to himself. The fact that he wasn’t whole. That he’d died and he’d woken up missing a part of himself. And that he had spent the rest of his existence looking for it, hunting down the only person who’d give him answers, salvation. Every time he found her though, she was broken, unstable. She’d fall apart to the pieces that made her tick, to the bare soul that held her vitality - broken, lost, scared, crazed. She would ultimately strive to ruin the world on her path to salvation and he would have to ruin her ever time to save the world. That was his greatest shame, the secret he’d never admit to anyone
