I grab it with a bright smile on my face. “Finally, someone, who talks sense!” I exclaim cheerfully, throwing my head backwards to take a few large sips. The feeling of warmth spreads down my throat, but I shake my head to forget about the taste.
“Okay, let’s start,” Gabriel suddenly says excitedly, trying to jump off the bed, but rolls to the floor instead. We all laugh, clutching at our stomachs and I’m luckily still sober enough to remember to whisper the enchantment for putting up walls of air. We don’t want anyone checking on us for noise violation in a couple hours, just to realize that we’re drunk.
When Gabe finally picks himself up, we grab one of the bottles. We’re now sitting in a circle, ready to start the real fun. Spin the bottle is fun and you get to kiss a lot, but it wouldn’t be so fun for the guys, if they had to make out with each other. They’re all as straight as a wall. I don’t think I’ve ever met a gay werewolf.
Dave is the first one to spin. The bottle stops on Marcus … And points on me. Oh, great. I already know where this is going to go. He smirks viciously. “Truth or dare?” I’m not a loser, obviously. Only losers go for truth.
“Dare,” I choose, already rolling my eyes before he even speaks up.
“Make out with Katie,” he blurts out excitedly, while my best friend starts laughing. The rest of the boys do as well. Except for Jake. He’s the only one beside me, who doesn’t seem amused.
“Seriously, dude, you’re getting old with this crap,” he protests, making me glance at him in surprise. Oh, okay, he never seemed to mind that before.
I’m not in the mood to listen to them arguing, so I turn to Katie, shaking my head in disbelief. It’s fine. Best to make Marcus happy while the game is still fresh. But the dude better step up his game. I won’t go around kissing everyone tonight, just so he can fantasize about it.
“Come here bestie, let’s make them shut up,” I tell her and she chuckles in response. We share a few kisses, suddenly hearing excited howls from our friends. Gross. I quickly pull away, before they get too excited. I don’t want to see any boners tonight.
“You’re a pleasure to play with, Evelyn,” Marcus declares loudly, making me scrunch my face in disgust. I hate that guy. He spins the bottle, which next lands on Katie and Dave. She makes him drink a full bottle of my DIY vodka. Savage. I know werewolves don’t get drunk as fast as witches, but damn. Still savage.
Next, we have Jake and Chris, who makes his alpha take his shirt off. Okay, maybe I was too quick about the whole straight as a wall thing. Then, it’s Marcus and Jake. I laugh my ass off as Jake gives him the challenge to put my red lipstick on without using a mirror. I never let anyone touch my lipstick, but for this purpose, I gladly lent it.
By the time he’s finished, I’m lying on the floor, unable to stop laughing. And the rest of the group isn’t doing much better. Marcus even parades around the room proudly, pouting his lips like a supermodel.
After a few more spins, the bottle lands on me. And I’m lucky enough to have it point on Jake. I turn towards him with a devilish grin. “Truth or dare?” I want to know. He stares at me intently for a few moments, before replying with just the word I was looking for.
“Dare,” he says. My grin widens even more if physically possible, and I clasp my hands together excitedly.
“Dude, I’m scared of her,” I hear Tim whisper to Dave and Chris. Except he isn’t whispering at all. I let out a short laugh, then finally give Jake a task.
“Strip,” I order, making everyone fall silent. “Then run down the hallway, screaming Save water, drink vodka instead!” I add, making him widen his eyes in shock. Marcus starts laughing his ass off, and the others join him quickly enough. Even Katie, who is usually against this kind of challenges is having the time of her life.
Jake stares at me as he grabs one of the full bottles and empties it in a matter of seconds. He then shakes his head in disgust. “I needed this to pull this dare off. My mom raised no quitter,” he finally says, making us all cheer for him loudly. This is going to be too good.
I watch without any shame as he gets up, unzips his jeans and gets them off. I even howl loudly to cheer him on, which makes the werewolves join in. I look and Katie and notice she’s covering her eyes. Oh, the poor thing. They can all tell she’s a virgin.
I lean over to whisper to her ear: “Girl, you don’t want to miss this.” She lifts her hands a little only to look at me, her face giving away the vibe that she’s terrified.
“I’m sure I do,” she whispers back, shaking her head like I’m acting insane. Well, maybe I am, I don’t know. But I know no boundaries.
“Oh come on, all of our friends have shown theirs at least once at parties,” I try to convince her, but she shakes her head again. Her eyes go wide, like she’s trying to tell me that I’m crazy.
“Yeah, but they weren’t sleeping with you!” she whisper-yells. Luckily the boys can’t hear her, because they’re still too busy cheering Jake on. I take a quick glance at him, realizing that he’s down to his underwear.
“Oh please, it’s not like I’ll be mad. I came up with the dare,” I tell her before turning back to Jake. He’s just stepping out of his boxers and I cheer loudly, clapping my hands together. Now it’s a party.
I jump on my feet, unlocking the door just for him. I then hold it open, gesturing for him to go through. He looks nervous but determined. A true hero.
“Remember the phrase?” I check, just to make sure. He nods. Even if he doesn’t, I’m sure we’ll all be rolling on the floor, laughing. “Well, go on then,” I encourage him, then look at my friends to invite them inside. If we stay in here, we won’t hear him yell because of the spell I cast.
Jake takes a deep breath and carefully peeks outside, trying to make sure that no one is around to see or hear him. I chuckle to myself. I would hate to ruin his last hope, but the rooms are full of students. I’m sure someone will come out to take a look at what’s going on.
He then takes off, while all of us gather outside to watch the whole thing. Even Katie. We try to keep as quiet as possible, so we wouldn’t get caught to quickly. But watching Jake run down the hallway butt-naked, while trying not to make too much noise with his bare feet is hilarious. When he turns around, I have to cover my mouth in order not to burst out laughing.
I don’t even care if he screams or not, this is too good to watch. “Save water, drink vodka instead!” he suddenly yells out as he’s halfway back, making me roar with laughter. And the rest of the group too.
We all rush inside, Jake getting in right behind me, as the last one. I’m laughing so hard that I can’t even close the door, so that falls onto Jake’s shoulders. He locks as quickly as he can, then gets his boxers and starts dressing himself up. But he doesn’t even get to the socks when his adrenaline kicks in and he joins in on our laughter.
“Dude, you’re our hero,” Gabe tells him, while wiping tears from his eyes. They fist bump each other and I take a look at Katie, who nudges me mid-laughter and sends me a wide-eyed look. I wiggle my eyebrows shortly, knowing exactly what she’s trying to say. Oh, yes. That’s why my sound suffocating spell is so perfect. I have to use it all the time.
I sneak back to my room at around three in the morning, perfectly content that I have more than enough time to sleep in until lunch. But as I close the door behind me and turn on the light, I almost get a heart attack.
My dear cat is just sitting down in front of my feet, practically glaring up at me. f**k. I forgot to feed her before dinner, because I was kept in the library for too long. “Beelzebub, I’m so sorry. I will get you something right now,” I apologize, hoping that she won’t stay mad at me for too long. But knowing her, she probably won’t even look at me for a week. Let alone sleep in my bed.
I give her canned food, kibble and even extra treats. But when I go to sleep, I notice her tail hanging from the edge of the chair. As I pass her, she wiggles with it angrily.
“I love you, Bubba,” I tell her in a sing-song voice, trying not to think about the weird feeling in my stomach. She twitches with her tail again, this time even more angrily. So, I just sigh in response and get in bed, turning off the light.
But I don’t lie for long, when I feel the familiar feeling of sickness, rushing up to my throat. I get up, rushing to the bathroom just in time to puke into the sink. I scrunch my face in disgust, then open the water. Well, there just wasn’t enough time to open the toilet.
I sit on the toilet desk, waiting for the sickness to come again, and it does. This time I do manage to puke into the toilet, then even clean the sink with soap. Ah, much better. As I lie down again, I know that I’ll sleep through the night this time. And once my eyes close, I already feel myself dozing off.
