I had to be redder than a bottle of Tabasco sauce. “Kelton…” I wished I had the right words to say back to him. His smooth talk had affected me so deeply I was rendered practically speechless. Panting and speechless. My throat was so dry I was shocked I’d manage to squeeze that one word out, raspy as it was. My hands itched to rip his pants off right there and then. In reality, I wasn’t quite sure what to do, but I understood the basics. Stick it in, jiggle around…I’d figure it out. I’d need him to teach me, dominate me. I sighed. He pressed his hard body closer to mine and felt his very strong need for me.
I heard a weird, strangled moan. I only realized that it came from me when his deep, rich chuckle reached my ears.
“Go, my darling, now is not this time. But you’re welcome to think about how good I will make you feel, when you’re ready, of course.”
Goddess almighty, I was so ready.
He lightly smacked my a*s. I yelped. Not from pain. But from surprise and built-up tension that suddenly burst forth.
I heard his light chuckle as I practically flew out the door.
By the time I’d reached my room and caught my breath, it occurred to me that I actually had no idea what to do if I had grabbed him like I’d wanted. His right hand had loads of experience in that department. Whereas, I had none. Zilch. Where was I supposed to learn that stuff? I had no close friends to confide in for s@x advice.
So, I headed to the trusty internet. After about an hour of reading every ‘how to please your man’ article I could find, I still lacked confidence. Part of me wanted to rush to the grocery store and grab a banana or one of those long eggplants to practice l*****g it. I’d found a few short tutorial videos that were basically instructive p**n. Just thinking about his c**k in my mouth had me all hot and bothered.
I almost leaped out of my skin when my phone chimed, alerting me to a new text message.
I assumed it was my mate, but it was Ally asking if I wanted to meet her for lunch. Would it be too much too soon to quiz her about s*x? We’d texted a few times, but this would only be the third time we met in person.
Me: Afternoon classes starting soon. Dinner?
A few hours and a couple of classes later, I was rushing toward the dining hall to meet Ally, when I slammed into someone.
“Oh Goddess, I’m so sorry I wasn’t looking where I was going,” I stammered.
“That’s alright, but we really should stop meeting like this.” I recognized the man grinning down at me. I met him last week, almost in the same place, and in the same circumstances. Though it had been much earlier in the day. Now that I thought about it, he could be the guy I bumped into at that club on my birthday. It was dark and fleeting… Probably just reading into things…
“Where are you headed?” He asked.
“Dining Hall,” I answered automatically.
Idiot, Maya huffed at me.
“Would you like company?” He asked.
“No, thanks, I am meeting a friend.”
“Let me walk you in.” He insisted in that strange accent that I could place. We were quiet as we walked through the doors. He’d been nothing but polite, yet I had a strange feeling. Like he was a dangerous person, but somehow he wasn’t a danger to me. Perhaps the new confidence I gained from my sexy alpha mate had messed with my inner danger meter.
“You didn’t tell me your name last time we met,” he smiled. Before I could answer, my phone buzzed with a text.
Ally: Who is that hot guy you are with?
Then it buzzed again.
Ally: Is he yours?
And again.
Ally: Is he single?
Again.
Ally: Want to share?
I glanced around and spotted Ally at a table by the window, waving me, us, over.
“Thank you for walking me in. Have a great day.” Apparently, he didn’t understand the dismissal in ‘have a great day.’ He followed me to Ally’s table.
“Hi,” she popped up when we approached. “I’m Ally. Who are you?” My mystery-accented friend chuckled.
“My name is Haden. It’s lovely to meet you, Ally.”
“How do you know Lara? Are you two together?” I stood there slightly stunned as the mysterious Haden and my extraverted new friend hit it off. We’d been seated together for at least five minutes before Ally remembered I was there. Though she had found out that Haden was currently single, twenty-three, he has several siblings - though they aren’t close, he’s studying art history, and he’s from Greece. Not bad for five minutes.
“So, Lara, you mentioned that you might have a boyfriend. Tell me everything.” Ally sat back in her chair and sipped her smoothy, waiting expectantly.
“Uuumm,” I mumbled.
“Well, it’s time for me to go, ladies. Thank you for allowing me to join you. It was nice meeting you, Ally. Lara, perhaps I’ll bump into you again sometime.” The way he said it sounded like a promise.
“Spill. Who is he? What does he look like? Is he good in bed?” Ally demanded the second we’d said our goodbyes and he left. All I’d said in my text was that I might have met a guy I really like.
“Look, I can’t tell you anything about him yet. It’s complicated.”
“Complicated how? He’s not married is he? You harlot!” Though she was giggling and faking outrage as she clutched her non-existent pearls.
“No, of course not.” I knew I wasn’t getting out of here without some kind of info dump. So I explained that the guy I was seeing was older than me and had more experience. She laughed and said everyone here is older than me with more experience. I couldn’t argue with that. I explained as best I could, without giving away my mate’s name or the werewolf thing. Ally was amazing to talk to. Full of positivity and encouragement and crazy advice.
Walking back to my room, I felt lighter, happier. Until I saw a distant figure that I swear melted into the shadows. One second, a swear, I saw the figure of a man and the next, nothing.
