Sophia’s POV
Every time Kana comes into the picture Jace just does a huge 360 around her. He always smiles, always puts her first yet here I am sitting here waiting for him for dinner with his family as his girlfriend and he is running behind since they have been arguing all day. Something about not saying something important about a place. I don’t know and I don’t care. All I care about is just making sure Jace is mine so that we can live a happy life forever and together.
I am really starting to like his character and who he is. Our dates in public are perfect, but at home here he’s just so distant. Maybe he is shy? I see Jace and Kana come in and she looks upset. All of the men in this room stop talking and just look at Kana and then at Jace glaring. Why does she always get the attention in this family and who is she to them? I mean I understand she is an adopted sister, but this is just way beyond than sister to me.
“We would like to make an announcement.” says Jared and Kylie
We all turn towards them and look at them both
“As you guys know we have been looking at adopting a child and well with the certain circumstances that have happened a few weeks back we decided to take in and foster a child. More of a test run for us as we get ready for having kids in the future and adopting kids.” Jared says to all of us
“I’m so happy for you guys.” Kana says to them
Everyone nods in approval. Fostering that is different?
“With that said we have also asked Jace and with permission to add a few more staff to our home and to the castle.” Jared says back to us smiling
“We hope that everyone can treat our foster child as one of us until she is placed into a new home. This will be a 3 month turnaround but something we have decided together to try.” Kylie says to all of us.
“Splendid,'' says King Stefan.
As the rest of dinner goes on Jace gives me no type of attention while he stays quiet in his corner. I sit here trying to keep up with everyone's conversation.
“So this foster child, who is she?” I ask Kylie
“She is someone that we encountered a few months back. Right now they are being released so for now til we can find them homes we will keep them with us or other families who will help.” she says to me
“Released?” I hear Kana ask
I see everyone look at Kylie and it looks like she said something that she wasn’t supposed to.
“I am sorry Jared.” she whispers to her husband
“To late for that now.” he says back to her walking towards Kana
“Ladies it looks like we will need a family discussion right now. If you guys could, could you please wait outside for a little bit and make yourself comfortable in the study.” Joshua says to us
“Yes of course”, we say to them as we leave
I wait for Kaden to get up and walk with us and he stares back at me with a hideous look. It’s like he can see right through my soul. I guess he is staying. I turn and see all of them staring at Kana and Jace. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be a good conversation in there. It’s going to be a long night.
“What was that all about?” I ask Kylie and Jayda
“Some things are kept secret for a reason. I was just caught up in the moment and didn’t realize it til it was too late.” Kylie says back to me
“And what was that?” I ask her
“Kylie too much.” Jayda says to her
“I won’t say anything, don't worry I just want to understand things here.” I say to them
“If you want to understand things then you should know now, Kana is the queen here and always will be regardless if Jace is married. Their family does not care about anyone else besides their family and their significant other. If you choose to be in Jace’s life, understand that they all take Kana as priority and their siblings. They all come first before anyone else including us.” Jayda says to me
“How can you guys allow that?” I ask both of them
“You would think that we would be upset about it, but we actually understand where they are coming from and respect it. As you may have forgotten, the sons in that room are the sons of the 7 deadly sins. So not only does Jace run a kingdom, but he is also a sin. Having Kana here has put their sins in check.” Kylie says to me
“It has made our lives so much more peaceful to finally have another female take the heat who can handle the heat if that makes sense.” Jayda says to me
“Yes it has. So know that here and forever now, Kana and Kaden have full rank in this family over even us. Even though we have been in this family longer it will always be like that and is known like that.” Kylie says to me
“And you guys are okay with that?” I ask them
“Yes of course.” they both say back to me
“I don’t know, I feel like maybe you guys were forced to say that?” I ask them
Both of them shake their heads with a no signal.
“If we were forced, we would never be here in the first place.” Jayda says to me
“How? Makes no sense?” I say back to her
“It makes every sense.” says Kylie
“What she means is, they all have certain powers and one of them can read your thoughts.” Jayda says to me
“Really? Who?” I ask them
“Jeremiah.” They both say together
"And what does that mean?" I ask them
"If we had ill intentions toward any of them even towards Kana, we would be removed from this family." Jayda says to me
"What? How is that fair?" I ask them
"Sophia we understand that this is a bit much, but please stop. We want to be in good terms with our husbands and in their lives forever. This is something we have to decide not by anyone else's influence. We are truly happy with this family with no regrets." they both say back to me smiling
