Jace’s POV

This is going to be harder than I thought. Now that everyone knows about Sophia my life has gotten to be a bit more busy than usual. I hate that everyone wants to know everything about us. A few months ago we were attacked on our land by demons. Since then the Vampire counsel has been on edge. They have asked for me to set roots for a new queen in our country and kingdom. Many humans and vampires died that night. It was a huge loss for everyone and Fin had ended up destroying most of the demons too. Something about a law in hell for demons destroying humans here in this plain. 

Obviously I am not for a new queen, but what can I do? Since father has now given me full ranks as king, things have been a bit uneasy for me lately. The counsel of vampires have been watching every move I make step by step. They have also added a “watch guard” for me as well. I am on the clock 24/7. I work with our family business and then deal with our vampire kingdom at the same time. Life has become a booming time clock. I have to do and please the counsel so that they can stay off my back. 

When we finally found Kana I was relieved. We waited to find her and it took almost 2 years. During those two years we found out whoever was working with the angels in Allister’s kingdom was involved in the kidnapping as well. Dad decided to keep this away from Allister so that he could handle this on our own. What we thought was just a simple kidnapping over power to use her against us was more. We still have a few people we caught here in our dungeon. So far it looks like they were doing experiments on magic folk. Something about breeding the ultimate warrior. Kana was one of them. Since she has powerful royal blood then it helped her case more due to her being valuable if they needed her for negotiation. 

We had reached the site after everyone did and found a below entrance to a sewage canal. As we followed the underground pack it looked like it was abandoned, but one of my warriors caught onto a mute sound. We approached a hall with boarded doors that were scratched up. When we saw what we did inside I almost threw up. We walked out with about 50 bodies. All of them were ragged with long hair and it looked like they hadn’t had food for days. As we investigated more into their bodies while trying to get them to regain strength, we found out they were wolves, but not wolves. 

From what a few older men of the lot that we found had said that their wolves were extracted. So far none of them can switch to their wolf forms. They can not sense their wolves. It’s like they are human only. One of them also said that aging has come faster as well. Another updated that they kept the extracted wolves below and the ones that have not worked successfully above. We have found 5 survivors who have stayed at least in this facility for 5 years or more. 

Of those 5 survivors 4 men and one woman. Each wolf we found below all had a certain strength. A few have powers as well or did with their specific wolf. Most of them were able to control elements. Controlling elements is godsend. For someone to be blessed to control any type of earth, fire, wind or water element was blessed by a god. So if they were, where was their god now? We have asked all of the survivors to stay in a villa so that we can make sure all is well before returning them to their families. 

Luckily they submitted willingly since we saved them. 13 of them have decided to stay and volunteer with us in feeding and the others decided to leave back to their pack. We will inform Allister and everyone else in the counsel about this another time. The wolves said that they were trying to place their wolves in other beings who they have created to make as ultimate warriors for war. I asked if they knew who was controlling this, but none of them knew. 

Sometimes someone wouldn’t come down for a week after extraction to feed them. All of them were kidnapped from their packs. They lived in the dark and never saw the light for years. When we reached outside all I could see was tears. I hope we do find out who kidnapped them. Regardless if this is another pack, we as a universal counsel will need to make sure this is not true. If someone really did find a way to extract wolves from others, what makes you think they can’t do that to other species as well? 

“Jace, your girlfriend is here.” says Julius

“Really?” I ask 

“Yes really. Make nice and deal with it.” he says back to me 

“I have no choice so of course.” I say to him 

“Jace, I tried calling you earlier and you didn’t pick up?” Sophia says to me 

“I am sorry I am working on something and we are close to getting our answer for it.” I say back to her 

“I understand, but shouldn’t you have time for me?” she asks 

“Yes you are right.” I say to her walking over to give her a kiss on the cheek

“Good. I want to go shopping and maybe to dinner can we go?” she asks me 

“Sure. Let me get ready and then we will go.” I say back to her 

My phone rings and it’s Kana. 

“Jace, what are you doing?” she asks me 

“Nothing, why what’s up?” I ask her 

“Kaden told me that you guys know of the place where I was found?” she asks me 

“Yes we do.” I say back to her 

“Why didn’t you tell me? I am here wanting to know everything and no one tells me anything. If it was anyone I would have thought it would be you but I guess I was wrong.” she says to me 

“It’s not like I would not have told you. It’s just.” I say to her and she interrupts 

“What is too sensitive? I can’t handle it? You guys just want me to be happy and won’t include me inanything that has to do with me?” she says back to me 

“It’s.. I start to say 

“Forget it. If you keep things away from me then I know now everyone has.” she says to me and hangs up 

I throw and flip my desk to the other side of the office 

“Jace is everything fine?” Sophia asks 

“Yes it is. I am sorry our dinner and shopping will need to wait another time. I will make it up for you then. Please leave and I will call you to plan something else instead.” I say to her 

“Was it Kana again?” she asks me 

“And if it was, why is it your business?” I say back to her angrily
